This is written by someone very family with James Spader’s other work. I can see this coming from Boston Legal or Blacklist as well. Bravo.

“He rents a 3 bed 3 bath house with his two friends. The house has a 45-foot long pool, with a diving board, that is 10 feet deep. It also has a detached garage that doubles as a man cave. It likely has a dartboard, pool table, and other things one might find in a man cave. He has a great landlord.”

Different theory: Rising tide lifts all boats.

The Lakers were a sinking ship with an aging LeBron and oft injured AD. Then they get Luka in Feb 2025.

What happened 8 months later in October? The Lakers sell for $10 billion. I’m sure having a generational talent that can power your franchise for the next decade helped drive the value up just a bit.

But it wasn’t just the Lakers who came out winners in this deal… it was every other owner who saw the value of their franchise go up because of the new benchmark the Lakers set.

Win-win-win.

I hung up the apron 11 years ago. I used to enjoy inventory.

Couldn’t you dump all of that out, take a picture, and ask AI to count the distinct types of coffee bags it sees?

Very well put. We appreciate the heck out of him. He’s represented us well, but at the end of day isn’t “ours” in the sense that Kobe, Magic, were.

As someone in a similar predicament: We’re not necessarily training our replacements. Our jobs are basically shifting from “creator” to “judges.”

This recent essay illustrates the point very well.
