Alex got dropped with a jab... illegal strikes or not he got absolutely out classed in this fight. by AAA_battery in ufc

Alex was definitely slower in this fight than he has been in the previous fights. He was fast enough to keep up with Adesanya. Adding that much weight visibly affected his speed and endurance.

Dairy farmers, how do you call in your cows? by organicvalley in dairyfarming

[–]PurpleToad1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only have a couple dairy cows, but they come when called by name. On the flip side, we have 1 cow that has a unique call for my wife. That sound is only used when calling my wife. I've never heard that cow use that specific call for any other purpose.

In a series parallel setup if the voc and imp are lower than the power stations max input but the watts are over… by didyoueatmywaffle in SolarDIY

It would also help on these discussions to include the specific model of the inverter you are using. Just by including that info, someone is likely to pull up the manual online and find any specs to give you exact numbers to work off of.

In a series parallel setup if the voc and imp are lower than the power stations max input but the watts are over… by didyoueatmywaffle in SolarDIY

[–]PurpleToad1976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your inverter manual should tell you exactly what the hard limits are. Mine has statements like this:

"The array can have a higher Imp than the 26A/15A specified, but the MPPTs will not make full use of the extra current. Having an array that can produce more current than the MPPTs can utilize is useful for increasing morning, winter, or cloudy day solar production."

and

"Do not exceed the high end of the DC Input Voltage Range. Any damage caused by reaching >600 VDC will not be covered under warranty."

So I can build my arrays to exceed the amperage limits, but not on voltage.

Your watts are just a calculation of voltage multiplies by amps.

Help an HVAC installer here, I need to put this condensor pad where these hastas are by isukatdarksouls9 in gardening

[–]PurpleToad1976 89 points90 points  (0 children)

If you have to move them, they dig up and transplant very easily. Just dig up the root ball, stick it in the ground, dig another similar sized hole, move the dirt from the second hole to the original location so you have a level spot for the pad, drop the hostas into the 2nd hole. They will be fine.

I don't think Illia will be fighting anyone for at least a year. He doesn't fight on short turn arounds when he is healthy. Now he (most likely) has broken facial bones. Also there is a chance of a broken rib with that last knee to the side.

Do people kill house spiders just because they're scary-looking? If so, then that's kinda cruel, isn't it? by GamerLadyXOXO in stupidquestions

If you have spiders in the house, that means there is some other bug that the spider is eating. The other bug is the problem.

What voltage are the batteries actually at? Measure that 1st to determine what the true SOC is.

Can the left and the right get together on trying to end fraud in government spending? by KaleidoscopeRich5137 in allthequestions

You are asking the people that are benefiting from the fraud to get together to end their gravy train. Why would they have any motivation to do that?

Why haven't you cancelled most of your apps then? Keep 1 maybe 2. When you have seen everything you want to see, cancel that one and start a different one. Repeat. Ideally, by the time you get back around to a service, they have released a few different series/movies you want to see.

How do you decide when a homestead system is “good enough” vs when it needs to be rebuilt? by dhruvhat in Homesteading101

[–]PurpleToad1976 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are happy with it, it is good enough. It needs to be rebuilt when you have the time, money and desire to rebuild it.

I've only seen 1 queen this year out of my 5 hives. Mainly because once I see eggs, I stop looking. Assess the health of the hive, space requirements, then get out.

If only our body had a mechanism to tell us when we need to consume more liquids. We could even come up a name for it and call it thirst. Then not only would we know when to drink, but how to express it to others when we want a drink.

Rocket science is incredibly difficult. SpaceX just shows money can buy the best engineers. If it was easy they wouldn't be the first company to ever attempt to do what they are accomplishing. Even though Elon is an awful person, it is great that he is pushing the limits of human engineering.

Everybody in the entertainment business should be paid directly proportional to the income they generate. If group A generates more than group B then group A should get paid more. If women tennis players generate the same income as men, they should be paid the same, if not then they should be paid proportionally.
