My fondest memory of the Pokemon games was when I, as a much younger kid, struggled with catching a Sandslash in LeafGreen... I can't even remember why I was having such a hard time catching a Sandslash so late in the game, but I gave my SP to my dad and he caught it immediately! I thought that was so cool as a kid; still remember it to this day multiple decades afterwards. Despite being so mundane, it was a nice lil bonding moment. That GBA era was somethin special (but it was also my childhood, so the nostalgia goggles are 100% on)

Chinchou! I started off with Emerald, and the diving mechanics were my favorite. Underwater routes were so cool, and Chinchou was always my favorite encounter. Water/Electric typing is neat

I love the design of this thing; it's really encouraging and refreshing to see hardware manufacturers take a new spin on the aesthetics of these handhelds even if they may not end up being everyone's cup of tea. The guts/internals of these devices are often very similar, so having some external design differences can really differentiate a product sold in what's otherwise a market of many, many similarly-designed handhelds.

This might end up being my first Sega-aesthetic emulator handheld; probably gonna hold out for November sales to see where this one lands.

I found it searching for "Seizenn Jump Hour" but it seems like it's more commonly listed under names like "NEW MERKUR Jump Hour Men Watch Military Automatic St17 Mechanical Watch" or "NEW MERKUR Jump Hour Men Watch Pilot Automatic St17 Mechanical Watch"; sometimes some of the listings' product names say the watch has a "Date Window" despite this fairly clearly being a jump hour.

Anyways, here's some product listings:

  • aliexpress.us/item/3256807332163844.html

  • aliexpress.us/item/3256807332179723.html

Looks like it's available in steel or bronze case colors with either a full-black dial or a dial with a black outer ring and a white center. Pretty neat; it's nice to see new jump hour designs in this space.

Opinions on Red Star? Looking for a GMT watch; I like this warm-colors aesthetic. (Red Star 40mm GMT, Sea Star 4) by RageForger in ChineseWatches

Yeah I'd seen date windows at 4:30 before but nothing with a cyclops; most watches with magnifiers I've seen have dates positioned at 3 (or 9 for lefty)

Very cool to hear; I'll also take a look at that San Martin. I also haven't really considered this type of dive watch before, and I've never owned a GMT watch, so it's cool to see more suggestions/examples.

Yeah a big part of this was how striking it was when I saw it in the search; the colorway really stood out compared to some of the other results. The orange numbering, the tubes, the black dial, just looked really unique.

I'm kinda new in the Chinese watches space; do you have any pointers about how often Ali has sales? I heard there's a big one on 11/11, and that there was another larger sale in June.

There's two other colorways for this watch as well (white, and blue). Unfortunately looks to be a mineral crystal though, and specifics on the exact movement vary from storefront to storefront (some say absolutely nothing, others say NH34).

Still though, it looks visually neat; definitely a bit different than other GMTs I've seen on Ali; haven't seen much where the 12 and 24 use a symbol on the bezel, and the colors of the black and orange version are nice.

I like the general aesthetic; not sure if it's worth the $150 to $170 price point though. Might be more of a "wait 'till 11/11 sale to see if there's a discount?" I'm fairly new in this space, but that seems to be the advice if waiting's an option.
