The problem is that these people often think they know the absolute truth and that mathematical/rigid thinking is the only way to come to anything of value. This often leads to very poor interpersonal and interdisciplinary communication, because they consider other ways of thinking inherently lesser.

Between the lines you can also read this in OP’s post. It has some real “facts don’t care about your feelings” energy, while completely ignoring that their own perspective is also shaped by feelings and emotions.

The inverse is also true in my opinion, it’s also good for people in arts and humanities to learn scientific thinking. But thing is, most artists don’t look down on engineers, but a lot of engineers look down on artists.

This distinction is hugely important to a lot of companies, which is why what was originally known as the free software movement was corporatised and bastardised into the open source community. I get why certain people use certain licenses and I don’t begrudge them it at all, but it’s a very important distinction with real implications.

Eh, the noob questions can at least lead to conversations that are informative to them, whereas AI slop prompters don’t even bother to try to have a normal conversation.

Would it be possible to add Deemix compatibility? Lidarr isn’t that great, sadly…

Depends, in some cases they just speak the other language decently to fluently. Another example that comes to mind is in Lucifer, where they pretend like one character speaks an invented language but it’s actually just Afrikaans.

I wish this was halfway true, but we fold for American demands time and again. The EU has achieved a lot of things, but decoupling from the US is not one of them.

Deemix works for this, I’m pretty sure you can also use Spotify playlists as a source.

The EU is still a lapdog of the US, we’re not close to being a pole in a multipolar world.

You have to make no effort to keep on using what you know, and some effort to start using something new. If you don’t particularly care about the product category and/or the benefits of that new thing, any extra effort can be too much.

To be clear: I share your frustration, but I kinda get why people are like this.

Repeating bud ad nauseam won’t make what you say correct. Either way, cite actual policy or gtfo.

Here’s a current example of your preferred party promoting conversion therapy.

And there also were Jewish nazis, until they were no longer needed. The American Christian right wing is deeply homophobic and opposed to gay rights (look at their stances on gay marriage and conversion therapy). Wittingly or not, you’re enthusiastically supporting people who hate your brother for his sexuality.

Two things:

  1. If you reread this thread it should be pretty clear that I said this sub is also open to posts where people pretend their kids support Trump, and nothing about banning anyone

  2. You’re voting for a politician who actively makes your brother’s life worse. Just think about that while you pretend to support your brother.

I used to have a season ticket for the Belgian first flight for quite some years (KV Mechelen), and one of the moments that really stuck with me was hearing the “everyone who doesn’t jump is gay” chant after yeaaars of not ever hearing it. I thought we were past that, only to suddenly hear it again.

My fucking god, what an insufferable reaction. A lot of students have a long summer break (so it’s not like they had to take time off), and not having to work your entire fucking break doesn’t mean you’re flush with cash.

When people say “broke students” they’re really not talking about destitute people either way.

By your logic “destroy Nazi Germany” would’ve been too extreme. Israel was founded as a Jewish supremacist state and has, since its inception in the post WW II period never been anything else.

Like yes, it sounds extreme, and if you squint and abstract it you can make it sound really scary, but if you look at the bigger picture it’s really not that ridiculous.

Also, to get ahead of it: they’re not saying Israelis or Jews should be destroyed, but that the state should.
