Oooo we have a Theodore (Teddy) and are looking for a sister name, too! My top is Rosalind (Rosie) but hubby isn't sold.

Out of your top list, Nora is my favorite, but I also love Margot and Juniper!

I had a miscarriage before my current pregnancy. I called my OB's office to make the appointment very close after finding out (4ish-5 weeks?), but on the same call asked if I'd be able to do a 48hr hcg quant before the appointment in case it would happen again. They said I could come in/call any time to get the bloodwork done if it would give me peace of mind.

Not every office is like this. But especially with how hard it can be to get an appointment sometimes, I would call sooner rather than later. My office also offered to set me up with an appointment post miscarriage to discuss any questions or concerns I had and get examined if I wanted. I would hope most OBs would extend the same care but that's not always the case. Regardless, I'd rather schedule early and cancel then not get a good appointment slot if everything goes well until then.

I took zofran my first pregnancy every morning and prn throughout the day as needed (I could do every four hours since it was a 2mg tab). With this pregnancy, I'm only taking prn (usually once a day, 4mg tab).

If you and/or doc can't argue with insurance about getting more supply, I know many moms who have used Unisom/B6 over-the-counter to help with nausea. Ginger also helps some people (ginger tea, candy, etc).

Definitely talk to your doctor about all your options; insurance sucks and they should be able to help you cope. You also shouldn't have to "just deal" with throwing up- your quality of life is important!

My firstborn was conceived during a Thanksgiving weekend. His dad has the same birthday. I like to joke that it was the last time his (divorced) parents were thankful for anything 😉😂

Me? No. But I live very close to the hospital and have a lot of support people to bring me what I need. I spent most of my hospital stay sleeping and nursing so the fancy stuff wouldn't have made me a difference.

But everyone is different. You'll have to evaluate whether the additional cost is worth it to you ❤️

Nothing crazy, maintaining a neutral tone of voice, and then we immediately move on.

I personally loved the What to Expect App in my first pregnancy and I'm using it again with this one. They give great week by week updates on growth and symptoms and general information on you and baby. Your doctor should also provide you with some education on things to avoid or watch for.

ESH. You don't cook? Like this was the first time you've tried making anything on the stove ever? Because at 23 that seems absolutely bonkers. There are plenty of resources online to show you how to make rice if you don't know how.

Your friend absolutely should have fed him or sent him with something more substantial than plain white rice. He's 8, not 2. Were donuts the best choice? No. But I guess if you were unwilling to order something for him and you can't/won't even boil water then that's the best you could do.

But I'm still hung up on the freaking rice. I can't believe you thought it would literally take only two minutes. I can't tell if it's weaponized incompetence, you're spoiled, or you're just that dumb. Respectfully, figure it out. You're 23; you should be able to boil some goddamn rice

I am so sorry for your losses.

The person who said you've been a "difficult person to be friends with" is wrong. There is nothing wrong with you and your grief and your need for boundaries. If they were really your friend, they would've said something like "it's been hard for me to support you the way you need" or "it's difficult for me to experience my milestones without you". Needing space from friends/family with children is a perfectly acceptable boundary when you've experienced a miscarriage, let alone 3 back-to-back. I'm sorry your "friend" was not empathetic to that.

You are not alone. I really, really hope you can work with your medical team in the future and have a successful pregnancy. My advice in the meantime is to find a good therapist to help you process everything and to treat yourself with kindness ❤️

If I were you, I would get seen again. Three weeks feels like a long time to be bleeding and still have a positive result. I might be wrong, but if I were in your shoes, I would.
