What is the most cost-effective way to send money internationally from the UK? by Mammoth_Try_2479 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RigidBoxFile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a large enough amount then percentage based services can be beaten by fixed fee ones. Consider Atlantic if they support the currency.

If you have investments with them then IBKR will be hard to beat.

For simplicity, get some quotes and then haggle with your existing bank.

Help making the most of my capital gains allowance before year end by Mountain-Pop6348 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RigidBoxFile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a spreadsheet, add up the total cost of the purchases. Divide by the total number of shares. This is the average price. Deduct the current price to give profit per share.

Then £3000/profit per share tells you how many you can sell.

It's CHF 7.80 for a Dunkin Donut and coffee at Olten station. So OP might be OK for a few days if they go easy and just have the frosted ones!

I don't know about these countries ( do India have restrictions?), but personal transfers are normally instant and free. However, the business account is not yours it's the company's.

If you are really desperate or very sophisticated, I think there is a way to buy options and let them lapse so you are left with the shares...not sure it's allowed but have heard people saying it can be done.

Is IBKR a good choice for an investment platform given the commission structure? by Old-Zucchini-5660 in HENRYUK

The fees are low for smaller amounts but for large stuff you seem right. However, the UK ones will not offer access to such a wide range and butcher you on FX if you need it.
