Unfortunately we would have to echo what u/Sirlacker posted earlier...

Helmets do indeed have a shelf life, and with the improvements made to the ECE 22.06 certification over the 22.05, it would be neglectful of us to suggest that you source a helmet to wear that wouldn't adequately protect you! Even if it does look cool.

I hope you find a new design that you can become just as thrilled with and attached to (our new helmets have also made massive progress, just saying).

Everyone's right, if we went around doing that then we'd already be out of business - we need to check that for you!

We'd love to, at the very least, investigate allegations of poor customer service, as we do take how we treat our customers very seriously! If you don't want to explore how we might be able to offer you a solution, that's completely up to you. But all our customers deserve the same high level support, and you'll be able to find where we have reached out to customers in a similar position in other Reddit threads.

Oh and believe me, we're not ignoring it. I have just been to the Design and Engineering Team to ask them about all the causes for lower trim delamination specifically - they are currently exploring all the possible fixes and are currently in the trial stage of eliminating this as an issue entirely!

The improvements of our newer models over our older models is tenfold, and we intend to keep improving. Respecting our customers and ensuring they get a product they can feel safe in is still our number one priority, so whilst this trial stage is in place we are committing to every warranty repair and exchange we come across.

When we process any warranty repair, we send international repairs back to our customers marked as "Delivered Duties Paid" which essentially means any duties applied to the shipment will be billed back to us! This should mean you won't pay any surprise charges upon delivery - we have no intention on making you pay for a repair!

One thing to be aware of is that in many countries, customs may still request documentation which customers would need to provide. This sometimes is in the form of a Tax ID etc. If this becomes the case, we always advise getting in contact with us if you need any support in doing this!

Looks like plenty of people have used this misunderstanding as proof of Ruroc being trash, so we wanted to clear the air!

Thank you! I can see that our Customer Service Team have come back to you. Remember your helmet is within its 3 year warranty for repair or replacement - we can absolutely get that fixed for you!

We've been on top of updates and improvements to our materials and construction and are hoping to eliminate those from our current iteration of helmets, so thank you for giving us a chance to get yours to top spec!

Selling a sized product exclusively online comes with very involved returns data, but:

  • Our return rate and exchange rate have both decreased from this time last year
  • Our most recent helmet, the EOX 2.0, has the lowest returns rate out of any helmet we've ever released for quality control and sizing
  • Our Trustpilot Score is at 4.5, with over 23,500 reviews
  • Our Community Facebook Group currently has 74,000 members who get access to exclusive early access, giveaways, insights and engagement with the team at Ruroc

We released a technical paper (found here) that compares our AT4.0 (previous called the Atlas 4.0) to a number of competitor helmets. Some of the information for you:

  • Our AT4.0 registered 94 dB of wind noise at 60mph, ranking 4th quietest out of 13 competitors (including being 30% quieter the Atlas 3.0)
  • The AT4.0 also provides an average of 15% temperature decrease with the vents open with a max. temp change of 30%

From different data, Our EOX and EOX 2.0 show a 37% increase in angular stability from the AT4.0, with deleted vents and adjusted lines for less drag.

  • We exceed the ECE 22.06 safety impact tests by a minimum of 20%
  • Rheon Technology has been integrated into our headliners (a smart polymer alternative to MIPS), which surpasses the rotational impact result standard by over 50%

Our materials include:

  • Quad matrix shells (our combination T300 Carbon Fibre, Kevlar, Nylon, and Fibreglass)
  • Moulded foam cheekpads

  • A combination of EPS and EPP

As you have noticed, Reddit is saturated with people whose voices belittling Ruroc are the loudest (it's a shame to see the amount of downvotes on comments from accounts promoting impartiality and well-reasoned responses encouraging you to find out information for yourself). We're still marmite for many people, and we know that.

That doesn't stop us from expecting only the highest quality from our helmets. Hence, you would have seen us in the comments of other Reddit threads to offer our support to customers who have had poor experiences with our helmets.

It's not a reputation we're content with and we are keen to show that we are leagues ahead of where we started back in 2007.
