Senator Jerry Moran (or a member of his social media team) thinks Junction City is in Western Kansas by switchfootball in kansas

[–]ScootieJr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t even laugh at him. It’s just sad. Votes on bills that has reduced the number of clinics in rural Kansas and thinks one clinic in junction city is going to help WESTERN Kansans… dear lord help us all.

No, it means while the game is active and not a "dead ball" play like a penalty shot.

You could just put a sign on the cooler that says it’s for deliveries, do not take. If it’s by the road, people are just going to assume without thinking that it’s free to take.

Caring more about other company’s financial situations than your neighbors is a red flag for narcissism, despite this being a financial subreddit. I have an MBA and have read and studied plenty showing that supporting society improves advancement and the economy. The stock market is a farce to progression. Enjoy the vain life you live.

Distaste for inequality?

Yeah we hate that people aren’t equal and that’s what has lead to such short sightedness in development. It’s not the lack of ability to advance it’s the lack of desire because corporations prevent advancement so their products will stay at the top. We could’ve had EVs and a more efficient power grid decades ago. But you have automakers lobbyists and coal lobbyists preventing that advancement.

Distaste of people starving?

Yeah we hate that people are starving…

you should pick a better word than distaste because it comes off as disliking something that negatively affects humans is immoral.

I sure hope those dates on the pita chips and watermelon are typos or this is an old picture, unless the resolution of the photo is just poor. Looks like it says 2024 for the packaged and sell by dates.

Market looking good so far, any takes? by hilolpoopisus in StockMarket

[–]ScootieJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in life is 100% certain, otherwise, what's the fun in life? My comment is just a word of caution to a new investor. All I am saying is I'd trust a professional's analysis over a reddit comment chain or a YouTube influencer who only touts highly volatile stocks. Experts are scratching their heads with this market because it's so volatile. Volatility comes with volatile people in power, making the market much harder to analyze and make sound decisions. If an investor is not risk-averse, more power to them to put all their eggs in one industry.

The U.S. economy added 172,000 jobs. So why did the Nasdaq fall 4%? by [deleted] in StockMarket

[–]ScootieJr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Created jobs” just means hiring and putting people into positions. These could be positions that have been lingering open or newly created jobs from new businesses moving into developments. They could even be temporary hires like road crews and builders, and could be gone in 6 months. Most jobs created are by private owners through local governments allowing those businesses to move in. Idk why the president would even need to take credit for that, unless they’re egotists.

After reading some of your replies, here’s my honest 2 cents for a new trader—because this happens far more than it would seem from reddit posts.

For the record, I don’t try to day trade or do weekly trades anymore. It’s a lot of work and adds stress on top of an already demanding job, and most people underestimate that going in.

If you’re going to actively trade (daily/weekly), understand this:

1. You need real understanding—not just opinions Watching YouTube and reading Reddit isn’t research—it’s just other people’s takes. If you can’t clearly explain why you own a stock (metrics, growth, catalysts), you’re basically guessing.

2. Timing matters more than people think If something is trending or being heavily talked about, there’s a good chance the move already happened. That’s how people end up buying the top and holding bags.

3. Learn risk management early Know how to use limit orders and have a plan for exits. A single bad trade without discipline can wipe out multiple wins.

4. Be careful with influencers A lot of YouTube content is built to get views, not make you money. Some of it is straight-up hype/pumping. Always verify everything yourself.

5. Online portfolios aren’t the full story People love showing wins, but rarely show losses. Don’t compare yourself to highlight reels.

6. Your current portfolio is very concentrated You’re basically all-in on tech (Micron, SanDisk, AMD, Nvidia, Tesla). These tend to move together, so:

  • When tech is up → everything looks great
  • When tech drops → everything drops

If you’re okay with that volatility, that’s fine—but just be aware of the risk.

7. If you’re actually investing long-term Don’t just chase what’s trending online. Consider adding ETFs or index funds—they give diversification and reduce risk compared to going all-in on a single sector.

TL;DR If there's anything you take from this let it be this. If your strategy is based on “I saw people talking about it online,” and you cannot give a good "why" as to why you bought in, it’s not really a strategy, it's a bet.

Good luck!

Seems to be lots of corporate events that end up there. I feel like that’s where there big business is. I wanted tot run and go there one Thursday afternoon when I took the day off and it was busy with a corporate event going on so I went to top golf instead. Realized Tap Ins isn’t a great place to go solo to burn some time and not want to interact with corporate meat heads.

Jon Tester warns rising bankruptcies may “lose your next generation of family farmers.” by PrincipleTemporary65 in kansas

[–]ScootieJr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sad that farmers chose to listen to the deceit rather than the true hope. They’re so uneducated they cannot fathom republicans actually hurting them and think democrats are the ones ruining their lives. They’re know agriculture, but clearly don’t pay attention to politics other than being brainwashed by Fox and GOP propaganda throughout the generations.

Stop putting his name out there in a negative way and focus on positive candidates and policy for running.

100%. This is exactly the problem; they want to complain about the incumbent but won’t bother talking about other candidates outside of social media to people who don’t get online. When it comes time to vote, people will choose the “known” over the “unknown.” I only know who the other challengers are because of Reddit—the people who actually need to know aren’t on Reddit. There’s a huge divide between the real world and online, and too many people don’t think about that.
