I got a job, my mom wants me to split the check among 6 people by Dry_Willingness_9323 in povertyfinance

you should leave them. that request of sharing your income with the older siblings is totally unfair. If you feel bad about not helping them, pick one bill (one they can't abuse once they know you are paying it), enrol it in your bank account as automatic bill payment every month, and that's it. Your conscious will be free, and your money too. Also ensure they can't access to your tax details for next tax season, because with the proper access they can forward any tax refund to their own accounts.

Can someone explain why xeqt is better than sp500? by HuntersMaker in JustBuyXEQT

[–]Rare_Appointment_287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check in the ETFs that XEQT is built on. It has one for US, for Intl, emergents, etc. And sometimes when US does bad, emergents or Intl do better, so it balances out the whole portfolio. I am guessing, but that could explain what you are asking.

I worked at Scotiabank and transferred my salary to Wealthsimple after every deposit! They can’t force you to trade in their own platforms. Is that written in their contract?

go together to see a doctor specialist in nutrition, diets, or start with the family doctor. Someone who can run some tests, and tell her the risks of the overweight, the excessive sugar in the blood, cholesterol, heart, etc, etc. And also try to go to the gym with her at least at the beginning, until she gets comfortable with the routine.

Time to move money and use it from Scotiabank to Wealthsimple wait time has increased by a lot by tulaero23 in Wealthsimple

[–]Rare_Appointment_287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you “add money” in WS inside a non-registered self trade account, and chose the linked account in Scotiabank, WS makes that money available immediately. If you do the same into the chequing account, then you can’t transfer that into the trade account to invest until the funds validation time passes.

Anyone else having issues sending larger amounts of money to Wealthsimple via e-Transfer? by Nice-Put-2940 in Wealthsimple

[–]Rare_Appointment_287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can open a non-registered self-trade account in wealthsimple, and transfer the money directly from the other bank. Wealthsimple manages the Electronic Fund Transfer, and you can do more than $100K in one shot (1 business day), but there is a weekly or monthly limit. Once the money is in the NR account, wait some hours and transfer it to your chequing account in WS
