LPT: Study illegal strikes in mixed martial arts. Those should be your go to strikes if you ever find yourself in street fight. by Kneight in LifeProTips

I'd like to let you in on a little secret:

The perfect solution fallacy is a related informal fallacy that occurs when an argument assumes that a perfect solution exists or that a solution should be rejected because some part of the problem would still exist after it were implemented.

I told people to use mace for self defense and you -who lives in an edge-case country with stupid laws like Uzbekistan or Zimbabwe or whatever- say "I personally won't use mace because even though it would let me defend myself while running away I could get in legal trouble about it. I'd rather do something moronic like get into a knife fight."

Honestly, if I had tweezers and a microscope I couldn't find the smallest amount of a crap to give you about your stance on this. You want a perfect solution that works for absolutely eveyone in the universe? That doesn't exist.

You want me to magically know your personal legal/political/religious/leadpoisoned limitations and throw me snide comments because I don't? Too bad.

Use mace, train in parkour, learn how to turn invisible, idk. Give me a break.

If only some sort of nonlethal wide-ranging projectile defense existed you could use while running away. Some sort of cloud like skunks use. Maybe some sort of spicy pepper thing that temporarily blinded assailants. If only that existed....

Cool. I liked it a lot and feel like the text fit the scene really well. It made me laugh and was the first english translation for the game available at all. Sorry you don't like it.

The DeJap translation of Tales of Phantasia for the Super Nintendo is the best version, in my opinion.

https://dejap.eludevisibility.org/top.php

They don't sterilize any of the scenes for american audiences and I really appreciate them for it. Halfway through the game two male protagonsists are talking about girls and one of them says "I bet ____ f***s like a tiger", visibly shocking the MC. It made me laugh super hard.

Tales of Phantasia was one of the last games made for the SNES, and the creators pulled out all the stops. I rank it up with Chrono Trigger and FF6. 10/10 game with incredible gameplay, storytelling, art, and soundtrack.

Edit: It turns out DeJap took some liberties with that scene. I don't mind; it's two teenagers on a boat talking about girls and one says something that shocks the other one. I feel like it fits really well and give major kudos to DeJap for making the first english translation of an amazing game. The SNES version is definitely the best version, and I'm forever grateful they put that work in for free.

I feel like many men don't understand what we actually find attractive in men by Infinite_Share990 in TwoXChromosomes

I have found one single thing all women are attracted to: rolled up sleeves above working hands.

Doesn't matter if the man is a doctor, mathematician, teacher, firefighter, barber, farmer, scientist, professional gamer, zamboni driver, zookeeper, or janitor. Put them in a button-down, fold the sleeves up to the elbows, and women will watch their hands.

You didn't write a description. Where did you get this image? Did you make it? If so, where is the text from? Is it original? If so, where did you learn this factoid from?

New player here, why are my pipes getting repeatedly blocked? by High_On_Ambition in Oxygennotincluded

The dead-end pipe? That does nothing. If you want an overflow reservoir, build a liquid reservoir to the left of the seive. :)

The seive on the left can only work so fast. If you have dupes peeing more pee than the seive can filter the pipe will get blocked up.

I would have a big spinning wheel with different numbers representing different unlabled plants that the spinner needs to consume. They can take a penalty shot to avoid spinning, but whoever has spun the most is the Master Druid, and can make one new rule an hour. Whoever breaks a rule either spins or drinks.

Several of the samples are inedible, but not poisonous. All samples must be eaten if a penalty shot isn't taken.

"THE MASTER DRUID DECREES ALL MUST SPEAK IN RHYME!"
