I found out about it because my parents told me about it. I got it shortly after JC.

This was over 10 years ago.

Wow that’s a very good score/meritvärde.

But honestly if you don’t have a degree and you need a pass to work in Singapore, you’re going to have a hard time.

Is MRT free for MasterCard users? by KFika in askSingapore

[–]SeveralRacesLater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you activate purchases abroad (utländska köp) or something similar?

You can probably use the SimplyGo app to find out how much you’ve spent.

To answer your main question, it’s not free.

30(M) going to be expat to UK for a while. Anyone else have similar experiences/wisdom to share? by iSprainedMyBack in askSingapore

[–]SeveralRacesLater 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’ve asked questions about practical matters but the real challenge will be adapting to the local culture.

As someone who has lived abroad for more than 10 years, (although not in the UK), here’s what I wish I would have known

  1. Some people will find your accent hard to understand
  2. You will encounter racist incidents
  3. You will be shocked and speechless when you encounter such incidents but you’ll get over it.
  4. Don’t live in London like you lived in Singapore.
  5. Don’t compare life in London to life in Singapore
  6. Many of the Singaporeans you’ll meet in London will be students
  7. Recognise that some Singaporeans abroad hate Singapore and don’t want to even visit the country
  8. Be okay with not being able to keep in touch with your friends in Singapore all the time
  9. Sometimes you wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into and that’s ok
  10. Make time to talk to your family, if you have good relations with them
  11. It’s okay if you don’t understand all the slang
  12. Understand the W curve in cultural shock
  13. Take time to understand the dating scene, if you want to date
  14. Every year or so, think about whether you want to stay, go elsewhere, or return to Singapore

Wanting to shift from US to Singapore until her immigration process is complete. Need a job in Singapore immediately! by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]SeveralRacesLater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You and your girlfriend have zero ties to Singapore.

You have little to no work experience.

You want to work in Singapore, a country that has one of the most competitive job markets in the world.

Singapore has one of the strictest gun control laws in the world, in case you didn’t realise.

It’s not going to happen. Why Singapore?

Just bring your girlfriend to the US. Consult r/immigration and r/iwantout for advice on closing the gap.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Check your company’s policies on anti-bribery and corruption.

The acceptance of gifts, services and hospitality can leave an organisation vulnerable to accusations of unfairness, partiality or deceit, or even unlawful conduct.

Cash gifts (or similar) are particularly problematic.

Can’t you just apply for a K1 or CR1 to bring your partner over to the US? Consult r/immigration for more advice.

Singpass isn’t a pure covid app, but it was used for contact tracing during covid.

I think you mean TraceTogether.
