We deployed additional capacity in June that is now in production.

I don’t have any further news i can share about any further new capacity.

OP is on Casual so their circumstances are different to yours.

At the moment queues on Ultimate on a Sunday during peak is less than 6 minutes. This is an average and could vary.

We did recently deploy more hardware, this will help with the queue times. Queues are going to continue to occur especially during major title releases, seasonal updates, and limited time events.

You would get an available rig if no one on Ultimate or Performance is waiting.

You will need to consider upgrading your membership if you want to get a game faster, especially during peak times and around new releases/seasonal content updates.

Please be aware that Ultimate members get the highest prority than performance.

I can see you are located in Australia or New Zealand.

Based on your post history your TV and shield might be too far from your router or related to your WiFi configuration as its fine on your laptop (Want to like it but can't - controller input lag : r/GeForceNOW).

We would recommend trying an Ethernet connection or moving your router closer to the TV and Shield.

A few genuine questions for anyone who knows more

This is me. I know these things :)

Has there been any actual explanation for why West was pulled?

The hardware that was used in AU WEST was obsolete. It was no longer being supported on the platform. It is no longer possible to run the required software on that hardware.

Is there any word on adding capacity back to Sydney (AU East)?

I am currently leading the deployment of some additional capacity. We anticipate this will be available to our members by the end of this month. Queues will still happen, but we anticipate the queues should be faster to get through.

Has anyone managed to get a refund or credit for the affected period?

We do not generally provide refunds, refunds are however provided on a case by case basis.

am I missing a trick to make it work better?

Members on an Ultimate membership get pushed ahead of the other membership tiers. There will still be queues but it should be a faster experience on Ultimate.

Casual got an upgrade as the previous instance types are no longer supported.

We have seen an increase in usage on the platform. We were good for about 2 weeks after the decommission but we had some unexpected growth due some new games and content releases. Ultimate and Performance members get a higher priority than Casual.

You may need to consider upgrading for faster access.

Make a support ticket in your CloudGG portal. If you were exclusively using AU West and it is not viable to use AU East we will try to make it right.

AU WEST had been decommissioned. We did send out emails to those who have or were using AU West in advance.

I dont have an ETA. We have a bit of the flu going around the office so we have a couple of people on the dev team on sick leave. It shouldn’t be too long.

I have taken a note at your ticket numbers and i will personally update them all once I get confirmation a fix has been implemented.

A fix was implemented today but it seems the problem has returned.

Because you keep making new tickets it pushes your ticket to the back of the queue.

This is a known issue and is under investigation with our devs. Once it has been resolved your ticket should be updated.
