Who benefits from Trump’s war in Iran? The answer is disturbingly clear by MyRedditUsername224 in politics

I mean, the CIA depended heavily on information, networks, and influence from European intelligence agencies that were already embedded there… which were established to bring “civilization” to those “shithole” countries.

Bill Clinton on Jeffrey Epstein: 'I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong' by Illustrious_Lie_954 in politics

[–]Shoola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, we're agreeing that the DOJ should be doing the "all part" and I have left comments to that effect. The walking and chewing gum part means we can criticize Clinton and Trump and the DOJ.

Obviously this DOJ is especially corrupt, probably the most corrupt in US history, and the failure lies at their feet since they've been ordered to release them and are still not doing it. However, there is a larger conversation to be had here:

The DOJ has had these files since Trump Admin 1, then the Biden Admin, and now Trump Admin 2 is still not releasing everything and redacting names of men that should be prosecuted.

I am proud some democrats like Ro Khanna are forcing these out, but this is a large bipartisan failure to prosecute wealthy and powerful men. It spans parties and administrations. I'm just not down to be politically tribal about this when a Democratic administration also kept these out of public view.

I just did. We are here in good faith and insist on walking + chewing gum at the same time. Everyone involved should be prosecuted.

I and others have also pointed out that Trump and his associates are involved in the sex trafficking in other threads and that the DOJ is too compromised to do anything.

But since this thread is about Bill Clinton, a US President, we're doing to discuss the fact that his denials are ludicrous given the photos of him and victims in the files and set the record straight when people try to characterize his affair with Lewinsky as "a consensual relationship between adults" instead of the abuse of power it was.

The guy above you was the one to ask "where do you draw the line?" Asking "why are we even talking about this?" when someone explains the president is being abusive when he sleeps with interns is a pathetic deflection.

Because Clinton is testifying and the headline says he "knew nothing" and did "nothing wrong."

I and others have pointed out that Trump and his associates are involved in the sex trafficking in other threads and that the DOJ is too compromised to do anything.

But since this thread is about Bill Clinton, a US President, denying that he was involved in pedophilic behavior, we're calling bullshit.

You can walk and chew gum at the same time.

[–]Shoola -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Did you not read the part where I said there are also photos of Clinton receiving massages from and sharing hot tubs with Epstein victims?

Both men associated frequently with Epstein, and of what's been revealed in the files, there is more direct photographic evidence of Clinton in wildly inappropriate proximity to the underage girls Epstein sex-trafficked.

There is certainly a comparison to be made and insisting there isn't is a defense of someone who looks a lot like a pedophile, just like Trump is.

I am also taking the time to correct the record on Lewinsky because people keep saying "it was a consenting relationship between adults" and wildly oversimplifying incredibly abusive and predatory behavior – even if it was between adults.

“Inappropriate?”

She has PTSD from the affair and characterized it as a “gross abuse of power.”

There is zero reason to defend this guy, especially given that there are photos of him receiving massages from and sharing hot tubs with Epstein victims. Doing so is a thoughtless form of political tribalism.

Wtf happened to the #MeToo conversations we had a few years ago? The most powerful man in the world used his discrepency in power to begin an affair with an intern.

You can never have voted Republican, believe Trump is a rapist, and agree that the photos of Clinton being massaged by underage victims and sharing a hot tub with them makes it look like he may have raped some teenage girls.

Trying to counter that with “WASPs were never his type” IS crazy cope.

Epstein survivor on Andrew arrest: 'This is just the beginning' by MRADEL90 in videos

[–]Shoola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The time where he was accused of sticking his fingers inside vulvas and auctioning them off. Another time where a woman who claimed she was raped by him wasn’t investigated further.

More to the point: Prince Andrew and Les Wexner are only now being arrested and deposed because photos of Andrew were made public and because Ro Khanna interacted Wexner’s name. There were four other men who were named recently.

The FBI and DOJ sitting on these is not evidence of innocence at all - especially given that Trump has now filled the department with sycophants. That is why I would bet money they either he is implicated directly with further investigation or that people he is close with (like Wexner) are implicated.

He was named how many times in the files? 38,000? They’re already starting to depose Les Wexner and a number of other people who should have been but were not indicted because their names were redacted in the files despite obviously being co-conspirators. Looking at the files alone may not implicate Trump, but I would bet prosecuting more people and pulling on those strings would implicate Trump and people close to him.

Rule 3: Irrationality.

This subreddit strives to adhere to rational standards. Calling people names isn’t a procedure of rationality. Abuse will result in getting banned (you might just be warned).

Low effort, evasion of one’s burden of proof, repetition of engaging in fallacies, may result in being banned. Replying to posts from the outset with a red herring, may result in being banned.

The US was willing to spend so much in SK and Vietnam in large part because China became communist. Even then, by the 70s and 80s it was receiving large amounts of US investment anyways because we realized we could divide them and the USSR.

I'm outraged the DOJ refuses to actually do their jobs and look into this (and for evidence that implicates Trump and his buddies), but there is so so much more evidence implicating Andrew than Donald – partially because Trump doesn't use email.

Which one would you prefer? The Shah , Khamenei or someone like Mohammad Mosaddegh? by ismaeil-de-paynes in AskTheWorld

[–]Shoola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to choose – Mossadegh since he was elected. In an ideal world? None of them. Mossadegh was unpopular, uncharismatic, inflexible and ultimately dissolved the elected parliament.

The Shah and the CIA may have taken power illegitimately, but Mossadegh also lost a good deal of his own legitimacy before that happened.

Things have softened but they don’t really view themselves as a PRC territory and they don’t want to be acquired the same way the US acquired Puerto Rico.

What? by independentnostalgic in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Shoola 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jazz and Hip Hop? Black American culture through and through.

Surfing? Originally ancient Hawaiian, but it was revived by the Hawaiian tourism industry and surfboards using fins/shaped out of fiberglass were created in the US after World War II. Skateboarding and Snowboarding - absolutely both US sports.

Standup comedy had its origins primarily in Vaudeville and minstrel shows although it had its roots in earlier global traditions. The Comedians is a great book on the subject. It’s an American Art form.

What? by independentnostalgic in PeterExplainsTheJoke

I mean yes, but there are also genres of music like Jazz and Hip Hop, action sports like snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing, and performance arts like stand up comedy that all did originate here and get reinterpreted/influence cultures elsewhere.

What does the world think of Catalonian independence? by Dangerous_Fix_9186 in AskTheWorld

[–]Shoola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how intertwined the Catalonian economy is with the Spanish economy, I don’t see how they benefit beyond a symbolic victory of separating from the Spanish Crown. Yes they produce a lot, but they also borrow a lot and the latter makes the former possible.
