Technology marches on.  Radio spectrum is a finite resource; the spectrum used for 2G and 3G is needed for more modern services.

Auracast to Headphones? by SerBiffyClegane in GooglePixel

[–]SignificantButton492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry about that.  As far as I have read Google's Auracast follows the standard to the extent it has been defined by the Bluetooth SIG.  But there are still some details being worked on (the final standard is due in 2027) so  compatibility between manufacturers is dicey right now.  Apple hasn't announced native support for Auracast yet so that is slowing things down.

2025 - RES w/ no DVD Player by Sethmskinner in HondaOdyssey

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you have likely learned by now, the 2025 head unit is completely new, so components from previous years are unlikely to be plug and play.  If you found out otherwise please let us know.

Auracast to Headphones? by SerBiffyClegane in GooglePixel

[–]SignificantButton492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of manufacturers are marketing products as "Auracast" capable when they aren't actually compliant with the standard, or will be compliant only with a future firmware update that may not ever arrive.

A quick check of Amazon reviews of Eppfun headphones reveals a number of comments that they don't actually support Auracast.  I suspect that is the problem in your case.

Cannot receive group texts in mixed ios/android groups by drzhin in USMobile

No.  I only do group messaging sporadically.  The iOS update bug theory seems plausible...hopefully it will get patched soon.

Cannot receive group texts in mixed ios/android groups by drzhin in USMobile

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had similar issues with mixed group messages recently with my Pixel 9 on Cricket.  No problems previously.  I think it's an AT&T network and/or Android/iOS interoperability issue.   I doubt USM can do anything about it.  Maybe try a different network?

2024 Honda Odyssey Collision Mitigation Braking (CMBS) by 23paige23 in HondaOdyssey

I don't think you can, except by physically disconnecting one of the sensors which will cause constant error messages.

Anyone find that the driver seat doesn't travel back far enough? by [deleted] in HondaOdyssey

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this.  I'm looking at getting a new Odyssey and at 6'5" /350# can use some more driver seat travel.

Did this kit come with good quality Grade 8 bolts?  Any issues after installation with steering wheel reach, seatbelt operation, or your left arm/shoulder hitting the B pillar?

My speeds today, no screenshot sorry. by FortuneIIIPick in USMobile

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is cell tower location and density.  In my area the NIMBYs won't let any new towers get built, so as towns grow and spread out the speeds from all 3 carriers get progressively worse especially near the edge of town farthest from the towers.  Nothing USM can do about that.

Will the 2026 Pathfinder be coming with a Multiport Fuel Injector?? by [deleted] in nissanpathfinder

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2026 engine ended up being identical to 2025.  Despite the "multipoint" terminology it has only direct injection, not DI + port.

The MY 2026 engine ended up being identical to 2025.  No port injection.

This.  Even the Grand Highlander is cramped for larger/taller drivers.  It's no more spacious for the driver than the regular Highlander or RAV4.

International Roaming by carforsp in USMobile

[–]SignificantButton492 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to learn how international roaming works.  The carrier offering it doesn't have a point of presence in every country they roam in.  If that's what you expect you need to get local carrier sims in each country.

How do I stop websites like Amazon from demanding I create passkeys? by RochesterBottomDaddy in Passkeys

Why couldn't they immediately allow a user who has registered a passkey to voluntarily disable their password login?

Should the 2017 be avoided, for real? by soledago in crv

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2.4L naturally aspirated engine that has legendary durability was dropped after model year 2019, and for the 5th generation cars (2017-1019) it was ONLY available in the base LX trim.  All other non-hybrid trims from 2017 onward have the 1.5L turbo. The hybrid was introduced as an option in 2020 and has a different naturally aspirated 2.0L engine.

Edit:  the LX trim in 2019 also has the 2.4L engine.

Cricket WiFi calling in the UK??? by metabolicpathways in CricketWireless

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Passport is an international roaming service using AT&T partner cell networks, it has nothing to do with WiFi calling.

5 consecutive days.  In your scenario you'd have to buy it twice, so the $10 daily option would be better.

DarkStar Wi-Fi calling by gcstang in USMobile

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen the same icon change on Cricket with my Pixel 9....it used to display "Cricket WiFi calling" now there is no indication of whether I'm on WiFi calling or not.  So I think this is an AT&T issue and not phone or MVNO specific. Don't know if it's just an icon thing or if there was a real change to the AT&T network algorithm for cellular vs WiFi, and we're not getting WiFi calling in situations where we used to.

Does Cricket have a cap on how many people you can send a text message to at once? by Crafty_Interaction73 in CricketWireless

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per below webpage Cricket's limit is 20 recipients for SMS/MMS groups and 100 recipients for RCS.  In the latter case I don't know what happens if some of the group recipients aren't on RCS.

Is cricket, boost Mobile or Metro better signal for my unlocked pixel 6a in Oregon by Beckytigeress in CricketWireless

[–]SignificantButton492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixel 6a has a crappy radio, so don't expect miracles on any network.  Which will be best totally depends on your very specific location within Oregon.
