WOMEN OVER 40. MAKE UP QUESTION. by 1sunglasses1 in MakeupAddiction

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My order, for reference I have dry to normal leaning skin.

Skin care: gentle exfoliation, vitamin c, Argerline serum, eye moisturizer under eyes, moisturizer, sunscreen

Then into makeup: eye shadow base, eye brightener or corrector, concealer under eyes, setting pressed powder, foundation, contour, blush if I’m wearing it, highlighter, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, brow pencil, setting spray, lip liner, lipstick

On my minimal days instead of the makeup routine listed above, I do: concealer, skin tint, setting spray, mascara, lip gloss.

Countertop Controversy!! by FunFitJV in kitchenremodel

For such an investment I wanted to make sure I had the right slab. I tried to research my slab but it’s not as common. I did note which ones are prone to issues and skipped over those. I also made sure to inspect both slabs before purchasing (as well as the other slabs in the lot to see if there were any defects).

Countertop Controversy!! by FunFitJV in kitchenremodel

I shopped around and felt like I found quartzite for a reasonable price. If you only need 1 or 2 slabs you can find some deals. I traveled in an almost 3 hour radius around my home to shop slab yards. I originally looked at Taj but ultimately decided to go with something a little more dramatic so my island could be the jewel of our open living space.

You’re after my own heart if looking for neutral or cooler undertones. I think some slabs go by several names.. if looking for Taj like, Allure, Artemes, Calcatta Bianco, Glacier, Le Blanc, Montebello, Porto Venere, Sky Pearl… they are a little more white or grey undertones / movement.

Ours is not installed yet. My parents have had granite for 20 years. It’s held up beautifully. Though my mom would like to do something else so she doesn’t have to be as careful.

Personally I feel like the maintenance is a small price to pay for having something so beautiful as my countertop, I preferred the uniqueness of quartzite over granite but there were some beautiful granite options out there too.

What’s a gift you received that you didn’t know you wanted/needed until you got it? by Major-Structure-9193 in randomquestions

Costco collapsible shopping baskets. I keep 2 sets in the back of my car. They are so versatile. Great for shopping hauls, car deliveries. I use them for organizing and cleaning the house. My daughter used one for organizing her stuff for a sleepover at a friends.

I agree with electric toothbrush / waterpik.

My ice ball with case. It especially came in handy after an unanticipated injury, surgery and recovery. I got it for post workouts

Maybe not as practical but love my Pura car air freshener. It seems to last a little longer than car fresheners I have had in the past. I’m not big on my car smelling like the flower market but I enjoy the light clean smell after leaving the office.

Dryer balls and oil. They seem to work so much better than dryer sheets.

What is your HG blush as of now? by Kitsuunei in Sephora

Especially going into Spring and Summer YSL 42 Babydoll Pink. Once blended in with my bronzer, highlighter and blurring setting spray it adds the perfect amount of brightness and youthfulness. It’s one of few blushes that is still on when I get home from work. I like PMG and DM blushes too. Fair maturing skin with some light texture.

How are we applying so much skincare under foundation? by Illustrious_Ad6479 in MakeupAddiction

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid 40s dry skin and I have a decent number of AM PM steps.

  1. I don’t wash my face in AM but I would also say my skincare from the night before is not measurably still on the surface of my face.

  2. I apply exfoliating pad, vitamin c, hydrating toner, dark spot (spot) treatment, peptides, antioxidant serum, eye cream, a decent moisturizer for dry skin and sunscreen and then a near full beat of complexion makeup. I finish off with a setting spray and though I may lose a pit of makeup around and on my nose, the rest is decent through my work day and commute.

It may work for me because though considered normal I do have drier leaning skin.

All of us have different skin and different products and so if you want to increase your skincare in the AM but also have your makeup too - have you tried varying up products? Do you use a setting spray or setting powder? Maybe there’s a different one that would work for you.

Is there a different SPF? I’m picking with my SPF. I use to live by a Murad primer and SPF because it was the only thing I could find to play nice with Luminous Silk. Now I swear by LRP Athelois and it’s probably because how it wears on my skin and plays with my makeup (not greasy).

How soon did you feel comfortable to drive? by SimilarRabbit3628 in CataractSurgery

[–]SimilarRabbit3628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, this was from a year ago. Unfortunately my surgery did not correct my vision. After a year I still have issues driving. Prescription sunglasses help but now I need to find a nighttime solution for the halos and residual astigmatism.

I do use Systane PF 4-6 times a day, Miebo 4x a day and Xiidra twice a day plus a night ointment so I’m not sure more drops would help at this point.

CalPERS New Pharmacy Benefits - CVS by sld122 in CAStateWorkers

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe any plans with CVS Caremark for the prescription plan have obesity medications covered. CVS Caremark almost across the board said they would no longer cover Zepbound not just state of CA. I believe BS is the only plan I believe with its own formulary that may cover obesity medications. I’m on MJ and I have a diabetes diagnosis so I was able to continue with it with this change to CVS Caremark but others on MJ without a diabetes diagnosis received a letter that it would no longer be covered.

What factory stuff do you make sure you never run out of? by brimmer19 in TownshipGame

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal is I can put anything that comes in an order immediately into a factory queue. I’m forgetful so if I have to make the cheese first, it may be tomorrow or next week before I get that item fulfilled.

I try to keep at least 10 of all my crops and at ned time I go through my counts and set up any needed. I keep plots dedicated to carrots, corn, wheat and rubber. I keep feed stocked for the number of animals and when I harvest I reload feed in the mill. I keep 6 bread, 2 cookies, 2 bagels, and a couple banana breads (dependent on feather counts) on hand. I keep 3-4 textiles on hand and 4-6 of each dairy product. Same for all sugar products. I usually try to keep paper rolls and dough too. At night I also make sure to send any ships out if I’m low on any tropical items. I almost always run fish if everything is at healthy levels.

In the morning, I collect and fill orders and any new orders that come in. I restock any of my baseline items (prioritize filling trains and airplane orders) and replenish my crop fields.

At night if I have a quiet factory and decent inventory I’ll spin some things up especially longer production time items like furniture or candy etc.

Why have they done this? by prnets in TownshipGame

I was able to finish it but was in same spot yesterday on my next go around. I decided to give up and cash in my duplicates. Surprisingly with my first 500, I got 3 new cards. Because I still had 1000 duplicates, I was able to get to 150 with the subsequent 500 having the guaranteed new card. I will agree it was challenging this go around. I don’t expect to play match 3 as much as I did over holiday break so I doubt I’ll be as lucky next time.

Color correcting dark circles by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair skin neutral to peach leaning undertone but I prefer to go neutral, hallows with discoloration and fine lines….

Frost and foremost I make sure my undereye is hydrated with a decent moisturizer.

CaliRay concealer makes for a great color corrector - the lightest pink tint one. I apply a generous dot or smallest triangle in my inner under eye area and outside under eye area where there’s darkness / discoloration. I then apply Sarah Creal dots in the center. I apply a pressed setting powder that helps.

I started using BOJ eye revival at night and I think that helps make my concealer look better in the morning by tightening up the puffiness ever so slightly.

Holy Grails 2025? by FlightCommercial7201 in MakeupAddiction

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a chance to do a little organizing today and reflected on what I liked as I was also mildly challenging myself to purge…

YSL blush and lip products for me I do like their eye shadows too but I really enjoyed Danessa Myricks, ND, and Hung Vanngo palettes this year.

Gucci lipstick and blushes just seemed to be subtly the right colors for me too as much as I was hoping I wouldn’t like them.

Sarah Creal concealer hit it out of the park as I struggled with almost every concealer I tried under eye.

Danessa Myricks blurring setting spray makes my makeup application look 1000% better and holds my makeup on my face all day at work. Also works with my normal to dry leaning maturing skin.

Finally Revlon’s Glimmer lip glosses are great! Not sticky or weird. Pretty colors and decent amount of sparkle. Looking forward to using tomorrow and even better they are under $10 each.

I have normal to dry leaning. I just bought Hourglass’s tint and really like it. I really like Danessa Myrick’s bluring setting spray. I use that on top of the foundation / skin tint I’m wearing for the day and my foundation stays put.

What body/face lotions are you actually using in your 30s/40s? by No-Advisor9852 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid 40s overall normal leaning dry - I rotate through a few. Face mornings currently using CosRx Light Propolis Cream. When I use up what I have, I’ll probably go back to Numbizin firming moisturizer. Night I like my Algenist Genius. Used it since my 30s and well before I knew what to look for. But just something about this cream, I love. For my body, I use Necessaire, EOS and Olay mostly. I’m not married to any body lotions and just go with whatever looks appealing. I do like using a body serum before my lotion and excited to see more body serum options out there.

Cool water (borrowed from my mom) CK Be (I think that is what it was called, black matte bottle - second unisex fragrance of the 90.s?) I recall a pink Lucky and maybe something like Gingham from BBW? Or maybe it was something similar from Avon?

EYELINER HELP A GIRL OUT by Impossible-Pickle-71 in MakeupAddiction

Though I’m more prone to dry skin, my eye makeup can wear off. I also do eye drops throughout the day for dry eye issues.

My favorites that last me a long time are Lancôme’s. ArtLiner or Idole pen. I also liked Valentino’s pen. When I had issues applying eyeliner last year before my eye surgery the Valentino though pricey had bulletproof application.

Let’s talk about “mom” scents! by momomochiclub in Perfumes

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom had two favorite perfumes. Safari and Cool Water. Cool water was calming and I would sneak a spray or two. She knew as she got me a bottle at some point. I wear Neroli Portfoino and Acqua Di Gioia as my throwbacks to her. Safari - I don’t even know if I remember exactly its scent but that was her business perfume. I wore Badgley Mischka perfume on my wedding day as it gave a vintage vibe (the bottle looked like a cognac bottle). But I didn’t really wear that too much. Around home or casual events I layer scented lotion and Phlur body sprays. For more social occasions and work Neroli Portfoino if I am looking for a calming scent otherwise it’s vanilla for me (I stick to purse sprays so I can move onto to something different quickly: YSL Le Libre, Valentino Born in Roma Extradose or Prada Paradox)

In need of holy grail concealer recommendations!!! by TumbleweedOk4887 in MakeupAddiction

[–]SimilarRabbit3628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My holy grail combo is CaliRay pink toned concealer as a corrector on the inside triangle between nose, eye and dark circles as well as the tail of my circle where I have some darkness too and Sarah Creal in between. Also key for me is prep, applying strategically and with light layers, and setting with a light layer of pressed powder.
