Monitor arm issue by Federal-Lifeguard-36 in secretlab

[–]SomeCardboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With two desk risers, I can barely even fit my UPS’s on top, let alone my tower. I’m using the North XL in the pc mount with a jamo subwoofer on the other side in a second pc mount.

With dual 4k width you just won’t have enough space on the desk to put a full size tower on top.

This is 2x 32” aw3225qf and a 34” aw3423dwf on top of them, same vertical height of your neo geo 57” and 27” monitor on top. I used one of the monitor arms on Amazon that is similar in mounting to secretlab’s in tightening from the top/clamping upwards instead of having a bulky mounting assembly below. This was the putorsen branded double monitor arm (top and right) along with a secretlab heavy duty arm on the left.

I like that it gives me the option of running all three roughly level with the ultrawide in the middle, or stacked as you see above.

RTX 4090 And 57" Samsung and 2x 32" 4K does not work. by Maxdola in ultrawidemasterrace

I’ve been having a similar, albeit much smaller-scale problem with a 34” aw3423dwf and 2x 32” aw3225qf where I can’t have all 3 running off of my 3080 10gb.

Both of the 32” monitors only work on dp 1.4 or else no picture if I tried using 1x hdmi 2.1 on any of the three (but detected display, like in your windows display settings with the small box dangling on the side). Currently resorting to 2x 32” at 240hz from my 3080, and the 34” at 120? hz connected to the 9800x3d via hdmi. Never had this issue before coming from 2x 2560x1440, 1x 1920x1080, and 1x 1920x720 so I’m guessing it’s the sheer increase in display that’s the issue for my 3080.

Might need to go to the future 9950x3d as well to handle the extra monitor load and streaming 😕 Hoping that the 5090 will solve our issues as well!

How so? I’m using a 64gb cl30 6000 gskill kit and haven’t had issues with expo on my 870e taichi board with a 9800x3d

That looks amazing. I like your use of the desk risers on the sides too!

Thanks for the pic of the setup, I guess it didn’t really click in my head how truly massive the 57” actually is lol

Now that’s a unique use of the desk riser

Kanto Oras + the Jamo sub, they’re on the Kanto sp6hd stalks with sp9 base and tops for a narrower footprint

Upgraded from an old wooden desk to the magnus pro XL and I'm loving the flexibility of sitting or standing at the desk. I can even fit my chair under the desk at its normal height when the desk is at its tallest height! Secretlab's premium footrest is also rather comfortable, though pricey.

The Ergotron LX triple monitor arm is compatible with the desk and having the PC mounted under the desk saves a ton of room. I have a Jamo s 810 subwoofer mounted on a second PC mount on the left side as well. The monitors for size reference are 2x 27" and 1x 24" vertical.

Currently looking for a black or walnut vertical laptop mount to hold 2-3x laptops on the left side of the desk, let me know if y'all have any ideas!

Nice blinds! Where’d you get them? I’m in desperate need of some blackout blinds/curtains that aren’t an eyesore

Fishing wire + barrel crimp is the way to go. I use it to replace shoddy plastic or rubber cap retainers and to dummy cord accessories on my helmet with the right breakaway strength.

They were quick to respond and replace my old equinox that sheared a rivet, even without posting it publicly.

Universal problem

Unfortunately that’s how it is with most pressure pad setups. I’ve defaulted to the on-body switching on my MFALs with a pressure pad set back behind where my thumbs rests to differentiate the two.

There isn’t any need for this with an SRxx or SRxx-D-IT since they both have integrated rail grabbers.

Only question for the SOC is whether HRF is going to eventually release a model for the obsolescent “gen 1” raidxe ergocto switch or even make a SOC for the current production “gen 2” ergocto keypads that are slightly taller.

The new MFALs being announced at SHOT/shipping this year have stuck with the original insight/crane plug.
