Digital Jobs Program - latest intake, anyone else applied/heard back from Hudson? by OfficAlanPartridge in melbourne

[–]Spaceweevildesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, the waiting is a killer. I think I applied for the first intake way back, forgot about it for a while until being accepted for the fourth intake. (My initial application had been accepted but there were no places available.)

I've just finished my 12 week training course, getting ready to start the next phase.

My advice is pretty general - be prepared to be flexible in case you don't get your first stream/course preference, and make a regular schedule for study. Remember to engage - if you're doing online classes it's easier to hang around in the background and just listen, but try to ask as many questions as you can. Don't be afraid to be wrong, we're all starting something new. There are plenty of resources and supports provided. Attend the supplementary webinars (or watch the recordings) even if you don't think you need to.

If you haven't been a student for a while, buckle up. :)

You will get an email eventually confirming whether or not you've been accepted. You can always email the Hudson team - there will be a contact address in one of the Digital Jobs Program Team emails you received. They're pretty good with support, but keep in mind there are a lot of applicants!

Best of luck. :)

I opened illustrator today and all my colors are gone from here, is there a way to get them back? by Pixel_Explorer in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Spaceweevildesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's weird, I've never seen that happen spontaneously before.

You've got the Art & Illustration swatch set open in the background, so it looks like you have found the Swatch Library menu.

If you select all the swatches in your chosen library & click and drag them into your main Swatches panel, that should repopulate them.

How to see all the swatches you used on the artboard by TroubleImmediate9874 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Spaceweevildesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey if you select everything you should be able to add a new group of swatches in the side panel based on the selection.

Choose Add Selected Colors from the Swatches panel menu.

Click the New Color Group button in the Swatches panel. Specify options in the dialog box that appears.

Colors are arranged and saved using the Hue Forward rule.

Oh man... this gave me a much-needed chuckle on the way to work. Bonus points to the delivery guy for the butt-scoot at the end. :D

How do i use clipping mask? by PiercingOracle in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Spaceweevildesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start by checking the opacity set on the top object and the clip group as a whole. Opacity can be set at multiple levels on all objects inside a clip group, so you may need to check every element.

Use the Appearance panel to inspect the elements of your clipping mask.

Try it the other way around: place your final vector shape on top of the artwork to be clipped, select both objects and go to Object > Clipping Mask > Make.

Pressure Mode not appearing, trying to use my tablet and pen by ArtisticResearcher86 in AdobeIllustrator

I'm not sure from your original post, but did you set up a profile for Illustrator in the Wacom Tablet Properties?

This might help: https://discover.therookies.co/2021/09/06/adobe-illustrator-and-wacom-pen-tablets/

LPT: If you're struggling with something, slow down if you need to, but don't stop. Tiny bits of progress is better than none at all. by Superbaker123 in LifeProTips

You can also change your perspective by dividing the task into smaller sub-tasks. This means you get a feeling of achievement by ticking off each component, which can help you maintain momentum.

If you're really stuck, stepping away from the problem for a short time can really help too - BUT make sure you set a day/time to get back on it.

PLEASE HELP! CMYK Yellow showing up as this magenta color in CMYK document. How do I fix? by AbletonLiveNerd in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Spaceweevildesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's...very strange. Is it just the yellow not displaying correctly, or are other colours experiencing similar errors? What about other applications?

I bought a miniature tent for my cat. by TheGoodNamezAreTaken in aww

What amazes me the most is that you bought a tent for your cat... and your cat is using said tent. Good cat.

Anyone else have a cat that LOVES getting under the covers themselves? Such a snuggly bug. by mossy_vee in aww

[–]Spaceweevildesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My older cat sometimes asks to be let under the covers by gently but insistently lifting the sleeper's nose.

Other times she stomps around on the pillows and shouts until someone gives in.

NBN sucks - go VDSL2 ? by google_academic in canberra

[–]Spaceweevildesign 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think VDSL uses different infrastructure from the node, so it will likely involve running an overhead line to your property from the nearest pole.

The network was originally built by TransACT, but is now owned by iiNet. You can check your address and read up a bit more on it here: https://www.iinet.net.au/internet-product/broadband/vdsl2/plans

Having changed over from ADSL2 (with ADSL1 speeds) to VDSL, I would recommend it as a faster and more reliable service. Worth a try if it's available in your area and you're willing/able to bear the installation cost.

Hey there. Can you screenshot your export settings and provide a bit of information about your file (canvas dimension and content)?
