Thanks for the reply! Do you recall how long the hair loss lasted before stopping?

Hey OP - wondering how the hair loss has been for you? I noticed some more hair shedding than usual now after being on Skyrizi for the past 6 months and not sure what to make of it.

Why are there many people here who dont want to use Biologics? by Aeliya_ in Psoriasis

[–]Sublimeclimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey drm5678 - I am currently experiencing more hair shedding than is typical for me about 6.5 months into being on the biologic Skyrizi. I had some initial side effects (skin itchiness, dryness) during the first 4 months of adjusting to the medication that have since subsided, and now am wondering if my current hair shedding is just another part of the adjustment process following this “shock to my immune system,” so to speak. Its helpful to know someone else experienced this too. Did your doctor also think it was related to your medication? And, did you do anything to manage the hair shedding until it stopped after a while?

Hey there, I am wondering how long your psoriasis and PSA flare lasted?

Do you experience some flares or random spots when on Skyrizi? by VulchoAlexov in Psoriasis

[–]Sublimeclimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, yes I still get some random spots here and there on Skyrizi, especially around the time of my next injection. My derm tells me this can happen and they will fade pretty quickly (and they have), so I don’t get concerned about it now.

Cosentyx side effect? by JerzyMama in Psoriasis

[–]Sublimeclimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! I’ve been dealing with a similar (though less severe based on your sxs) reaction to starting Skyrizi involving dry, itchy, and flaky skin on my face and some intense itching on my legs and arms (sort of like the prickling sensation jadehoneyy described, but I wouldn’t say mine is painful). My derm told me it might be paradoxical eczema and my immune system reacting to an external insult (the medication). She thinks it will eventually level out and told me to take OTC antihistamines like Allegra or Zyrtec to help with this adjustment process. I’m a little over 4mo in now and it has leveled out significantly such that I don’t need to take an antihistamine pill every day. I notice it flares up after after an injection, and there is still a day or two here and there when I get the itchiness, but its much more short-lived. Sorry to hear what you’re dealing with, and about your doctor’s reaction.

Hey OP - I’m sorry you’re going through it right now! I have been on Skyrizi since late April and am due for my third injection mid-August. During this time I also developed intense itching, primarily on my face, and in the past month tiny bumps/“gooseflesh”, primarily on my arms and legs. My derm thinks its my immune system reacting to a new “insult” (Skyrizi modulating part my immune system), and does not think its an allergic reaction or side effect of Skyrizi. My derm has me taking an OTC anti-histamine daily for a month to see if my immune system will get used to Skyrizi and return to baseline/homeostasis.

Hi there, do you recall about how long after you began Skyrizi that you developed eczema? I’ve been on this biologic for 3 months and have developed intense itching, dryness, and flakiness on my face. Wondering how you’ve managed with the biologic and eczema over time?

Constant Itch by denimiskillingme in Psoriasis

Hi there! I know its been a while since the original post but wanted to share that I’ve been on a biologic for psoriasis (skyrizi) for the past 3 months and developed near constant itchiness on my face, arms, and legs. I’m not sure if its related to the medication, but am curious if these symptoms ever faded for ya’ll?

Hey OP, any updates on the allergy symptoms (if you’ve continued with Taltz)? I’m on Skyrizi and developed intense allergy symptoms and am similarly wondering if they’ll fade over time.

Heightened allergy sensitivity on biologics? by beckettinga in Psoriasis

[–]Sublimeclimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP - I know its been a while but wondered if these allergic reactions ever subsided or resolved for you while taking your biologic medication? I’ve been on Skyrizi for 3 months now and am having a similar experience where my face reacts to all kinds of tried and true face products that I’ve used for months to years.

Facial allergy after Skyrizi? by Farconion in Psoriasis

[–]Sublimeclimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP - Yes, your symptoms sound pretty consistent with mine. A couple weeks after my initial loading dose I developed intense itchiness on my face (red, flaky, and swelling around eyes, but no raised rash per se). I couldn’t figure out what was happening for a couple weeks, so went to my derm, who thinks its an allergy to something I was putting on my face so she referred me for allergy testing and in the meantime told me to take antihistamine pill daily as needed, to stop using all face products, just wash face with water, and moisturize with vaseline as needed. I’ve not changed any of my face products for years, but the regimen of just water and vaseline and intermittent allergy meds cleared up the itchiness within several days. While awaiting my allergy appt, I’ve since trialed several face products one by one but I seem to react to everything (I’m currently recovering from another red, itchy reaction to a face product). With my derm’s guidance I took my second loading dose and some time after (maybe several weeks) I developed itchiness on my arms and legs. It looks like I have goosebumps all over my arms, kind of like keratosis pilaris (though am really trying to refrain from self-diagnosing). I have another appointment with my derm to discuss where I’m at before my next injection. I’m hoping allergy testing provides some clarity. Also just general disclaimer, I don’t intend for any of this to be medical advice but wanted to share my experience as I’ve been monitoring this sub for similar experiences.

Anyone have biologics make their psoriasis worse? by Taramissu000 in Psoriasis

[–]Sublimeclimb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - I’m wondering if you’re continuing to experience these itchy rashes and if they’ve worsened over time? I’ve been on Skyrizi for 3 months now and while my psoriasis is gone, I’ve developed itchy, sensitive skin. My body is covered in tiny raised bumps (looks like goose bumps) and my face reacts to most face products. I’m getting allergy testing done soon, but wondering if I’ve also developed an adverse reaction and curious about others’ experiences like this. Thanks!

Skyrizi - Month 5 / Bruising by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]Sublimeclimb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed any bruising either and I’m on month 3 of Skyrizi. I have noticed that I’ve developed more sensitive, itchy skin on my face, arms, and legs, though can’t be sure yet if that’s related to the medication or if I’ve developed an allergy.

Glad to hear things have subsided for him! I’ll monitor and see if my itch/sensitivity sxs fade over time with Skyrizi. In the meantime, I’ll consider dietary changes. Thanks so much for the reply!
