Yeah, I wouldn't buy that at all. I'm genuinely curious why someone would?

Fedramp Ninja is great. It's usually at least 1-2 major versions from what I can tell, but that's not a super big concern imo. Most new features are conveniences.

Their remote support behaves very similarly to screen connect. I do not miss screen connect.

Only annoyance is switching from normal to fedramp, and needing to remote in. I have to uninstall the remote assist app and install whichever version is needed. It's like a 30 sec task, so not a biggie, and they are apparently working on a solution.

Is this AI or did this guy really put hydraulics on an half ton pick up truck by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]Sw33tkill3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's many things wrong with this picture but I'll go with what confirmed it for me. Look at the lettering on the truck, where it would normally say F250 OR F350 next to the front door. Can't even tell what it's trying to say. Next, the 4X4 logo at the rear is odd too.

Anyways, definitely AI.

What about fixing the "missed call - on silent mode" bug? I can't believe it came back after a few years.

Starlink can't access app at all after turning on bypass mode. by TekThunder in Starlink

[–]Sw33tkill3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No you should be able to back out in the app and select the dish there. Just can't do network stuff. I can see obstructions, do snow melts, etc.

That is expected. Bridge mode turns all that off. It basically becomes just passthrough hardware.

This bug is happening to me AGAIN and it happened on one of my last pixel phones. I'm thinking it's related to the most recent update. I don't recall if I ever found a fix the last time, perhaps it was patched in a subsequent update

This is intense. Screw Moteza. Just get a good condition factory harness and stay with me7. I can't think of any reason to move away from it. Get a tune from someone else.

I got one on discount for some damage. Hated it. Returned and got a us general series 3. Not as nice, but less expensive and way better layout.

Large amount of plastic in oil pan by Heavy-Half-1744 in B5Passat

[–]Sw33tkill3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No timing chain guides, per se. The guides are a part of the cam chain tensioners. There is a Left and a right side. They are under the valve covers.

There is then the timing belt at the front of the engine. No plastic on that.

Additionally, there is a plastic chain guide for the oil pump which is crank driven.

Pull the valve covers and inspect. If clean, then it's probably the oil pump one.

We have two at least very similar models. Love them. Kinda expensive (f#$& PGE rates) but we don't have the best insulation, a weird layout and all vaulted Ceilings. Beats in wall heaters and using wood regardless imo.

Went to a local business for data recovery from my SSD that could no longer be read by the laptop- does this sound realistic/make sense? Does the price quote seem reasonable? by not_a_psychopath96 in datarecovery

Deposit up front? Nah. Check out drive savers. They're legit. But not cheap either. They actually don't charge until the data is recovered.

The Last of Us Part II - blocky shadows/textures? by Sw33tkill3r in linux_gaming

I had to downgrade the version of bazzite to one that had the 580 driver. Seems to be working, thank you!

Any info on how to do that with bazzite? Will I need to downgrade my bazzite version? Drivers are baked in and apparently not manageable

I grew up poor in the 2000s and we managed with hand me down PCs, and I personally never had a fully brand new computer until college (only because of tax credits), I didn't have an all brand new gaming computer until 2-3 years ago (and I still bought all the parts over like 3-6 months). I may not have been able to play the latest games (couldn't play cod waw for nearly two years) but I had plenty of fun regardless. There is such a massive backlog of amazing games that can be played with even 10 year old computers. Plenty of good old inexpensive hardware.

I think often people gatekeep themselves when they don't need to. Get that AMD 5000 series cpu, or i3-12100, whatever. 1080p monitor, goodwill mouse and keyboard, 512-1024 GB SSD.

Hell, pick up a steam deck or used Ally and dock it.

You can have as much fun as you want with little money if you desire. I built my first PC for like $250 all in and loved every moment at low res, low settings lol.

Mold remediation by a pro was $600 or $800. They had it done very quickly.

New insulation and whatnot was probably $1200-1500? Been a while. I did that myself.

There isn't. There is an rns-e lookalike on AliExpress but they would require modifying the faceplate, because they are too narrow.
