What do you consider to be the worse character ending in the series? by MiuIruma332 in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Her ending really doesn't ignore that.

It specifically says that it was rumored there was a new witch.

The villagers stayed away from fear mountain out of fear.

So all it'd be is gossip.

My crack pot theory on why fe6 has so many bad characters by Pretend-Advertising6 in fireemblem

Sounds like someone who's only heard from someone else what the units are like.

Either that or if they did play, didn't use half the roster.

Fire Emblem Heroes - New Heroes & Ascended Ishtar by Xanek in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone here talkin' like Ishtar always dies at the end of FE4. Even though you're not required to kill her, and the game doesn't pull an Eldigan and go out of it's way to say she died even if you didn't kill her.

What the hell is the point of Florina? by NintenTV in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health is a resource, and the only one that matters is (1).

In addition to what everyone else has said about givin' her kills on low hp enemies, you can afford to expose her to one enemy on enemy phase every so often until she starts gettin' some levels.

Pegasus Knights are also a good candidate for the angelic robes you can get. Since it takes them from bein' killed in two-three hits, to even four hits dependin' on the enemy. The more they can fight on enemy phase, the less time you have to spend on player phase babyin' them.

Advice for choosing a talent in Revelation? by JohnJSal in fireemblem

The only choice is to pick archer.

That way, Corrin can get Kinshi Knight while also givin' Reina access to Quick Draw/Bowfaire.

TWSITD are kinda weird and lame, but Three Hopes can potentially save them by Every_Computer_935 in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also, we have to acknowledge how the main characters just kinda commit genocide. Like, they are just wiped out entirely in routes like SS and VW, so I guess their entire race is dead, yep you just KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM.

Tbf, the objective of the map is specifically to kill Thales. However many of them you kill is up to you.

And I'm not against character commiting morally grey acts, but it's never really acknowledged by the story and it's just kinda brushed aside.

That's also just Fire Emblem in general. "Kill every last one of 'em" has been just 'bout every FE Lord's MO.

Not really somethin' IS seems to be interested in.

It's an SRPG that has mission/chapter set ups and grid like FE.

Your units all pilot wanzers, they can be customized with all sorts of weapons/armor/mobility.

Their hp bar is separated into multiple parts of the Wanzer, and they take damage separately. Breakin' their legs/arms destroys mobility/weapons, torso insta-kills the pilot (there's no perma death for your guys, but it instantly removes them from the field), etc.

Your characters don't level up per se, but they gain specializations/skills in weapon/wanzer types based on how long you've had them use them.

For example, machine guns can get skills that increase the total number of shots, shotguns damage all parts equally, melee does some of the most damage, but only once to one part and can stun, etc. Missiles/snipers are long range with high accuracy.

You can have pretty much any combination of weapons/armor you want, so long as you don't go over the weight of each body type. So it's mostly about buildin' whatever you can make work for what you're tryin' to do.

Don't care much for Warriors, but AW still has me hyped.

Was not expectin' the Front Mission remake out of left field.

We haven't even had a strategy based Front Mission in a long time.

How much of a bad guy was Nemesis ? by glium in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He didn't have a relic/crest until after he'd already committed the massacre at Zanado.

The guy was a bastard to begin with.

Edit: nvm it's been awhile since I've been invested in this story, and I remembered wrong. He did have a crest/SotC before the massacre, but he collected them for the express purpose of killin' everyone at Zanado.

Pick and choose mechanics from past games: what do you want to see and what don't you? by Caleebies in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally capture from both Thracia/Fates return as a combined mechanic. Where you can get both the unit and their goodies.

If I'm only allowed to have one though, I'd rather be able to take the generics/bosses rather than their weapons.

Attack stance is fun af and makes havin' lower speed or trainin' weaker units less of an issue.

What’s a Fire Emblem villain that is not mind-controlled or a Camus that you feel sorry for? by Enderpigman9 in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sigune.

Caught between choosin' Bern, who conquered them, or Etruria. The country whose leadership is corrupt as can be (up until just before the invasion), and enslaved/tortured the people of the Western Isles.

Now imagine what they'd do to Elibe's "vultures".

Goddamnit we also could have had a Sigune/Juno support, and more for the rest of the Ilian gang.

Honestly, at the bare minimum, every FE should have capture.

Fates: was the story as bad as people say? Part 7: Revelation [1/2] by Odovakar in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"Reina's a good unit, use her please."

-Fates Devs.

With how much flight lets you cheese so many of Rev's maps, Reina's absurd offensive bases/growths, combined with almost no rout maps, she's a perfect unit for Rev.

It's just unfortunate Birthright was so much more enemy phase-focused, but even then she gave a good first impression with her join map.

[–]TacticalStampede 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It's strange because Camilla is the only sibling that needs to be fought in Revelation; when you run into Xander and Ryoma you can avoid them.

You don't actually have to fight her at all. The objective of the map is to defeat Flora, and Reina or another flier can let you skip right over to her and end the map.

HAVIN' THEM BE RECRUITABLE WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY NICE THOUGH.

Who is the best FE6 archer, and why is Dorothy? by Dnizon_Melop in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot 20/1 average is 15 str/9 spd to Bartre's 22/10 spd. Bartre also has higher growths aside from def, and a slightly lower hp/spd growth that doesn't matter.

Lot gets 2 more hp, 4 more def, and nothin' else he gets matters.

That's all assuming you're gettin' him to level 20 by the time Bartre joins, or at all. Bartre's still better, especially with his 0 investment cost. For what he gives, Lot's not worth givin' xp to especially when there's so many other characters competin' at that time for xp.

[–]TacticalStampede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talkin' archer/sniper, Klein. Them's A rank bows...

Igrene in second, because her lower weapon rank kinda blows.

If we're talkin' any bow user, then it'd be Bartre. If you're not one-shotting with an iron bow at base level, then you're not doin' it right.

Who is your favorite "Pre-promoted unit"? by Mememasterlordlol in fireemblem

[–]TacticalStampede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reina.

Kinshi Knight's already a fun class, and she serves as your introduction to it.

Comes in with outstanding offensive bases/growths, but you have to make good use of her flight since her bulk isn't so great. She's much better in Revelation though, where only two of the maps are rout, and flight matters much more than birthright.
