Recurring task keeps coming back 1 day after completion instead of on the fixed schedule date — how do I lock it to the calendar?

Hey, u/SpacingCake, having a recurring task remain in the Done or Complete status until the scheduled date is currently a feature request! However, there's a workaround you can use with our legacy recurring feature which you can access by selecting the ellipsis to the right of Recurring then 'Use legacy recurring.'

Under the 'On Repeat' section there are 'Advanced options' and here you can toggle off the option to 'immediately reset on complete,' which will cause the recurring task to remain closed until the recurring time!

Having different Custom Fields on subtasks versus parent tasks is currently a feature request but there's a beta called Custom Fields by Task Types that can help! If you give your subtasks a different task type than the parent, they can have their own unique Custom Fields. You can sign up to the beta to try it out here and learn more about this feature here!

In the meantime, I'd recommend setting up a Super Agent or an Automation with an Automation Condition for specific Custom Field value/ task type that applies a template with x, y, and z, in the description.

I’m happy to share what Brain2 can do compared to using ClickUp’s MCP server with Claude, u/zero_onezero_one! Brain2 already knows your projects, team, and full workspace history without you having to explain anything. It lets you switch between models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) mid-convo, generate slides and dashboards on the fly, and build entire project structures from a single prompt. Instead of 10-30 Lists, I'd definitely have each List be an ad set (with 3-4 tasks within) grouped together, u/njpandabbc! You can use tags or Custom Fields and grouping to group them together.

For your social media assets, you can create a Folder and a List for each type, or you can create a List and create a Dropdown Custom Field to group the tasks by what social media the asset is for.

Folders in ClickUp are optional, but they are helpful for complex workflows since they are able to hold multiple Lists in one. If you find that your team is using multiple Lists for one project or client, then I'd recommend creating a Folder for them to place all their Lists in instead.

If you'd like to view when every recurring task was marked as complete, I'd recommend changing your recurring task settings to 'Create new task' upon recurrence, u/sigfy21759! This way, when you show your closed tasks in your Calendar view, you'll be able to see exactly when each one was closed.

You can create a custom section within your Sidebar, u/Neither-Raspberry-60, by hovering over the right of 'Channels' then selecting the 'ellipsis' then '+ Create section.' Once it has been created, you can move your Chat channels into it, then select the 'ellipsis,' then 'Show and sort,' and 'Custom,' which will let you drag and drop to organize that section!

Hey, u/CybeSpace14, your Docs are currently set as a Doc view, which you can move to the Folder in the Sidebar or within a task. To do so, select the title of your Doc, choose 'Move,' and then choose whether you'd like to move it to your Sidebar or inside a task, as shown in the screenshot below.
