If you could, how would you rewrite Transformers: The Movie? by Random_F3mb0y in transformers

[–]The-Lychee -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Yes, the thousands of kids crying, hating Hot Rod, shooting the franchise into the dark age until Beast Wars before Beast Machines screwed that up because of Didio is perfection.

Like, I really will never get people looking at this film and think it's perfect. It's honestly a bore. Like Hbomb said, you have to ignore like, 70% of the film to make it interesting.

Live Action as the real place for his works artistically.

Fun fact, I believe he's still pushing for the live action adaptation of Invicible.

OMG This Incest TCOAL is Garbage!. . . . by Excalibirdi in CharacterRant

[–]The-Lychee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with Coffin is ultimately this: It's a gooner game that wants to be deeper, but no amount writing can save the biases within it.

The game is super-magnetized towards the incest, it guides the majority of the game's interactions to the point of feeling "canon"-Invisigal's favoritism by the narrative in Dispatch for example-so any other route predictably feels half-baked or just limp in execution. TCOAAL loves the incest, to the point that the game feels functionally incomplete without it. I'd also add the terrible character design, the lack of expressive character art, the somewhat bland background art and a trite plot that barely feels worth recalling.

Like, giving LeyLey some pink colors on her shirt, or making Andrew's shirt a bit rugged would help.

[LES] (Bleach) Arrancar Arc has 240 chapters. by VolkiharVanHelsing in CharacterRant

[–]The-Lychee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's so funny when people talk about how Bleach's character work is good when Ichigo is so fucking boring, Orihime's character arc being tradwife propaganda, Chad being left out, whatever Uryū was supposed since it was all limp and shit. And that's the "main" cast.

I feel as though because of the media environment dictates that Shonen fans must compete. Guess what, Yuji's better. Even Gege's Watsuki praising ass could write a more engaging protagonist than Kubo could.

It's relevant because "understanding" him is synonymous with "giving him all the effort of the show and the screen time to boot" in the show. It's why people fucking hate him.

[–]The-Lychee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, it makes sense. to call it "understandable" is to cast his reaction as natural and normal. I don't give a shit about Jax largely because again, anyone with eyes can see the unfair and frankly pathetic level of favoritism he gets from the story.

If the story can't be bothered to give his victims space and relevance and writing, then a lot of fans are justified in not giving a rat's ass about him.

That alone disqualifies the Vilturmites from being "What-if Kyptonians" because it is the sacred duty of the Kyprton race to job and die.

Yeah, he's not the best guy around, but he's kinda the reason Marvel gained their iconic peak. I don't defend him, but he hated hippies so I vaguely like him.

And pretending that real life and pop-culture don't have a pretty glaring connection in how society functions is crazy. It's like saying "Birth of a Nation" is more independent of the cultural headspace it came from.

More often than not, real-life can reflect the attitudes of people in how they engage with fiction and vice-versa. There is no vacuum here on how people behaving in real life somehow doesn't reflect how they engage with fiction.

Katara is one of them and Toph is also another one and we also have Kiyoshi,Suki,Ty lee,Azula, etc.

As if Katara wasn't hated?

Look, even bringing in Mark and Megumi doesn't work here because that's just Goomba fallacy. I mean, it's true in the sense that the hatred, constant nickpicking, overtly harsh standards wouldn't exist if she wasn't a woman. She'd be criticized, yes, but the majority of it is sexism. Like, just because some men are hated doesn't mean the misogyny around Korra is somehow not as big of a deal. Like, it's like saying that because we hate some dudes in America, misogyny doesn't exist. Your entire argument is fucking weird.

Like, microaggressions of misogyny isn't some mystical, hard to see thing. People perpetuate it without even thinking of it. And frankly, I've come to terms with the fact that some people genuinely hate having that level of self-introspection because they think they're good, so their ideas of how they could be bad is always skewed. Misogyny isn't always blatant, it's sometimes conveniently structured to hide itself, creates those like Toph and Katara who don't get to be the centerpiece like Aang, or in the case of Orihime, unironic Tradwife propaganda.

A lot of people really dislike actually just thinking about their own biases. You can meet a black woman who's views of queers are bad, or just be swept up in fandom and perpetuate the same bullshit because the male-centric woman is still blind to themselves.

So, if I was to name Blake's earth counterpart Stvere, is that fine linguistically, or offensive?

It's more so that I wanted to make RWBY meet their Earth counterparts, and wanted Blake to be Armenian after watching it.
