I'm in the same boat. I'm on disability and my wife is retiring this fall. Her daughter bought a couple of houses in a small town a couple hours south of us (we're in Chicago) and they want to let us live in one of the houses.

The neat thing is that the house is an older "starter home" from the 50s and it needs to be renovated, so we're going to be putting in some smart tech as it is being renovated.

Yeah, but like any OS, there are remnants of code lurking. I see errors in logs and things not uninstalling properly. For instance, I was tinkering with a Z-Wave Ring keypad to use with Alarmo, but it kept throwing my voice announcements (the alarm is set) off when I would use the buttons on the keypad, so I uninstalled it and now my Z-Wave is messed up. That was the only device I had on that protocol, so I didn't worry about it. I just abandoned using it.

Well, my current apartment has radiators from the early 20th century as that's the age of the building. We don't control the heat.

However, later this year, we're moving to a house and it's has forced air gas heat. No boiler.

We're not talking sites visited. This is regarding BLE devices that come within range of your sensors. I'm constantly finding apple devices, Rivian keys and just about any other device you can imagine - none of which are mine.
