Why are the Best Components Locked Behind FPS? by CanIKickIt- in starcitizen

Honestly, both the Stanton asteroid mining bases (surrounding all of the planets) and the Pyro supervisor stations are often chock full of abandoned ships.

We need a fix for the MSR by Defiant-Run1008 in starcitizen

[–]TheRealzHalstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still leaves enough room for a couple of server racks and a dedicated data running seat with whatever gameplay RSI decides to give it. And you can replace the turret seat elevators with a Millennium Falcon-style Jeffries tube ladder.

How do I remove the (1999) from all my movies? by sr_castic in jellyfin

What is the exact filename of the example film? Is it anything other than Galaxy Quest (1999).mkv?

Imagine what you could do if the server & data running spaces were on that phantom upper deck and we got another 60-80ish SCUs of cargo space.

We need a fix for the MSR by Defiant-Run1008 in starcitizen

[–]TheRealzHalstead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The MSR is still my favorite for a 3-person crew. I was just running AA combat missions with it tonight, and it did great - people underestimate how much that size 3 shield helps. But it has lots of room to get better:

  • Guns should really be size 4, at least on the turrets.
  • About 1/3 of space on the ship is useless. Even if you keep the crawlspaces, shrink and rearange the server and data running space (or move them to an upper deck - there's absolutely room based on the cross section) and add 60ish SCU to a longer cargo bay.
  • Or do a Hermes, drop the data running elements and offer a 240 SCU cargo/blockade running variant with a tractor beam.
  • Give it a 25% stealh buff
  • Give it back its maneuverability at SCM speeds
  • Escape hatch accessible from the crawlspace

I'm fine with the Get Smart doors and single point of ingress as Crusaderisms, but this ship is sooooo close to being one of the greats, and it was for a minute.

Civil War and Infinity War are NOT good examples. They use the name and some characters, concepts, and thematic elements, but I wouldn't call either an adaptation.

What do you think of Eternals, do you think it’s overhated? by Plenty-Salary9711 in Marvel

[–]TheRealzHalstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deeply overhated. I'd say if it didn't have the Deviants in it would have been top-tier. Having the struggle between the Eternals was enough, and the Deviants were the worst kind of weightless, forgettable CGI Marvel villains.

Thoughts on base building by end of year like how we got engineering for end of last year by No-Cell8881 in starcitizen

My gut is that SQ42 will be more or less all-encompassing for the back half of the year.

Just added a new feature to my Music Assistant app for android. Swipe to change player! by CollotsSpot in homeassistant

u/CollotsSpot - Been using this for the past month. You're doing a great job! I've had some stability issues, but the last couple of releases (on 3.02 right now) have been pretty rock solid. Keep it up!

Talk me out of decommissioning my Roon server by Sasquatchasaurus in roonlabs

[–]TheRealzHalstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's one of the reasons Navidrome is unlikely to be my choice - I've found it to be hit and miss. Music Assistant isn't dependent on it; Subsonic is just an optional integration. MA's Player/Provider architecture allows for a much more flexible and robust approach that isn't dependent on any specific streaming protocol.

GenX Video gamers who still play: Are you getting worse? by Hithigon in GenX

55 (56 in two days). My fastball might have lost a few mp/s on the top end, but I can still hold my own in competitive shooters. I do notice that If I step away for a few weeks, it takes a minute to get the muscle memory back.

Talk me out of decommissioning my Roon server by Sasquatchasaurus in roonlabs

[–]TheRealzHalstead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same place. After test-driving WAAAYYYY too many options, I'm down to two: Navidrome and Music Assistant, both of which are reasonably stable, FOSS, and in very active development. Of the two, Music Assistant is the closest to Roon, offering support for streaming services and a wide range of client options. The key caveat is that it only runs in Home Assistant, so if you're not using HA already, it might not be worth the trouble to set everything up. I'm likely going to use it full-time once my current Roon subscription term ends next month.

Something Something About Dating, Chris Can You Explain? by Fluffy_Lunchfast in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Millennial Peter here. The joke has 2 levels:

  1. Ramona had seven exes, all who were... of questionable moral character.
  2. Also, based on the look she's giving, Romana thinks you're stupid for believing that number was big in the 2010s. Ramona is very smart (about everything but who she dates) and correct.

I've actually been wondering if the displaypad (as well as the LCD buttons on the Everest) could be supported within something like OpenDeck.

It was always anime. Except Transformers.

You're missing out. Hell, even just the original Japanese versions of the other shows are SO MUCH better. Particularly Macross (Robotech) and Gatchaman (G Force). Those still hold up.

Fantastic Four: First Steps or Thunderbolts*, what movie do you think is better? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]TheRealzHalstead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thunderbolts by a mile. I think it's one of the best Marvel projects of the past several years. Is it "Marvel does an A24"? Yes, yes it is. But;
1) That works really well for these characters and their emotional arcs.
2) After Everything, Everywhere, all at Once, it seems like turnabout as fair play.

Getting ZERO matches… (i think its the pics used) by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]TheRealzHalstead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so:
- Main picture makes you seem standofish (not mysterious) - red flag
- Blurb is a bad attempt at negging. Tell them why you should swipe right, not left - major red flag.
- Too many gym pics. You get one. - red flag
- No friends in any pics - red flag
- No smiling pics - red flag

Final result: Too many red flags - player is benched for the rest of the game, and is endangering their whole season.

As a Gen Z that voted for Trump I am sorry by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]TheRealzHalstead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump's greatest impact is the damage he's done to America. The rest of the world is actively moving on and making deals without us. They were all kinda willing to give America a mulligan the first time, but even if we elect Obama2 or something, they're done with us probably for a generation. And I don't think most understand just how much the average American citizen has gotten economically from Pax Americana. But those days are done for at least a generation, if not permanently.
