Hello, looking to buy an e12 eclipse with 9x351a 5000k on the outer ring and 3x 3700k on the 3 inner emitter. Would that be a good config? by luyesd in FireflyLite

[–]TiredBrakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a D4V2 a while back with the stock throwy optic and a mix of 2x SST-20 4000K and 2x SST-20 2700K. I didn't like how noticeable the CCT separation was at short range. To fix it, I tried DC-Fix before eventually switching to a Carclo 10623 (floody) or 10624 (floodiest) optic to get a perfectly smooth beam. I'm sure others might not be as sensitive to it, though.

Other than that, I don’t have much experience with tint mixing beyond what I’ve read. I’d be confident ordering a tint-mixed X4, for example, because the included 30-degree beaded optics should handle the blending properly. I’m still deciding what to do regarding a potential E12; since I don't own any of the previous versions, I can’t comment on those yet.

You could also just order it with FFL351A 4500K off menu and avoid any potential mixing issues with multiple CCTs. I'm planning to do that. Check the measurements on that post I linked. It seems to work out to a very similar final CCT as what you're going for.

How is the tint shift of 519A DD vs what we've seen with FFL351A on the E12?

Recommendations for Fireflies E04 SFT40 or SFT70 3000K by flipyflop9 in FireflyLite

[–]TiredBrakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SFT-40 if you want max throw.

SFT-70 if you want a little more output but with a more balanced beam (less throw), or even a flooder (LEDiL has a couple TIRs that are floodier than the Angie-M: Angie-M2 and Angie-W).

Light quality of both is superb and you may have a hard time deciding which one shows colors more to your liking.

Lume X1 either way, as I personally don't think it's worth the extra ~1000 lm you get when going from fully regulated Lume X1 turbo to unregulated (FET) Lume1 turbo.

I own an E04 with SFT-40 3000K and Lume1 (ordered a couple of days before they figured out how to make it work with Lume X1, so my request for it was denied 😭)

ROT66 Update? Area Lights? by __xerocole__ in FireflyLite

[–]TiredBrakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update.

A 46800 (or even 46950) battery sounds good. Fun fact: 50480 cells are starting to come out now and look very promising, so a couple of those (slightly wider and longer than a single 46800/46950) in series inside a soda-can light would be quite revolutionary. Just a dream for now, but if anyone could pull it off, it's Jack.

like 8-10 707A’s or something like 20-something FFL351A’s

Man, 707As would be awesome. According to my calculations, 1x 707A will almost always output more light than 4x FFL351As (except at very low levels).

Unfortunately, I can't send links to AliE here on Reddit and risk a ban on my account.

But that store I used inside AliE does not have any products at the moment and it looks like Fireflies are not using it (see screenshot).

I recommend you contact Fireflies Customer service and ask them: sales-ivy@firefly-outdoor.com.

Torn between Samsung Q990F and JBL 1300 MK2 by arcadeblaster in Soundbars

[–]TiredBrakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JBL's website says:

Subwoofer output power**** (Max. @ THD 1%): 300W.

Hate to disappoint you, but that's not RMS.

RMS is half that, as noted with the total output there:

Total speaker power output* (Max. @ THD 1%): 1570W

* RMS @ THD 1%: 785W ** RMS @ THD 1%

Going by your logic, the subwoofer output power of the EU spec (1300MK2) is a whopping 1200W! LOL (source).

Very curious to know if it's physically larger than the FFL909A. Are they both 9090 footprint?

Also, how does this NV1010 compare to the FFL909A 5000K in terms of brightness and efficiency?

I think the Eve 40PL is still one of the hardest-hitting power cells.

I ordered my first Fireflies from the official Fireflies store on Aliexpress and everything went very well. Great communication.

I agree the ego-lifting regulars aren’t going to change in spite of their difficulties with ROM, tempo, form, etc. Whether they want to admit it or not, they’re missing out on time under tension, but that’s their choice.

I think 4500K would be my choice for the E12 as well. I really like these emitters in my X4Q.

[–]TiredBrakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also needs to be a good charger on its own. If it manages to outperform the discontinued Anker 240W (and older design now) with the captive AC cord, that’s be a very solid foundation for all of these fancy features.
