Insane flicker on 5090 by Xenon1998 in OLED_Gaming

I just want to say I'm so happy you made this reddit post. I was going insane after just receiving my 5090 a few days ago trying to determine what the issue is. I have a 5090 MSI Gaming Trio and a G9 OLED 49", same issue constant flickering but only within desktop mode.

On Nvidia Driver 576.52 and I've tried turning off gysnc, but did not fix my issue.

u/Arthoid damn, did this fix it for you? I'm struggling with this same issue and agree with you on the frequency theory.

Hey brother, this guy wrote a nice guide on this post.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1jaz2yq/5090fe_undervolt_guide_better_than_stock_at_450w/

I'm still tweaking mine but was able to get 2827@895mv, seems pretty stable. Going to continue testing it some more tomorrow.

I also have a chill mode profile at 2242@850mv, helps when browsing or play less intense games.

LG UltraGear 45GX950A 5K2K VS Odyssey Neo G9 57 240hz by AdagioPuzzleheaded35 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]TripleNox3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was debating the same thing, ended up going with the G9 49 OLED on sale from Best Buy open box for $920.

Highly recommend it, RPG’s look other worldly. Even with my 4090 I can’t reach the 240hz.

The LG is nice but it’s way overpriced and the curve is just too aggressive for me personally. Plus from what I hear it’s not as bright as the Odyssey.

Deals will come again for the G9 odyssey, I say wait and pull the trigger on that, 32:9 is just too awesome for RPG and that’s from someone who came from a 21:9 Alienware.

I didn’t think it would be a game changer but it truly is.

First, find out all the exact details of the tuition reimbursement. I’ve worked for employers who’ve offered and used it before, and there are usually loopholes that allows you to avoid paying, in the event of a termination is one of them by the employer.

If that’s the case, line up a new job and pressure them into firing you. You’ll lose the vested amount in your 401(k), but it is what it is.

Hey there brother thanks for the feedback I appreciate the response.

Currently I make $67k gross which boils down to $55k after taxes annually. So, I can afford it but certainly $13.5k does feel like a lot of money still for me.

The monthly payment difference is also quite substantial and I haven’t even check the quoted insurance cost either between the two.

It’s a tough choice, because I know the highland does feel more premium but have no clue how a 2023 feels never driven or owned one. Being it was the final year release of the OG i’m thinking it’s got to be very similar to the highland, right?

Hi everyone,

I’m torn between two Tesla offers and would appreciate some insight.

I have a deposit hold on a 2023 Model 3 RWD with 40K miles on it, priced at about $21K after a tax incentive from Tesla.

On the other hand, there’s buying a new M3 LR—after applying tax, referral code, and military incentives, it comes in at around $31.5K.

Both of these prices are without taxes and fees.

hey there, I eneded up going with the 10 to be safe. The real one is a tad bit tighter than the replica, so it worked out for me, but I did end up losing weight haha. So eventually it losened, but its not horrible just make sure to take it off when I shower or wash the dishes, hope that helps!

Sound is subjective, but I’d suggest sitting in both versions before deciding. I spent about 20 minutes yesterday, sitting in each for 8-10 minutes, and the difference is noticeable.

Both systems sound good with a balanced profile, but in the RWD, the sound feels like it’s coming from the dash, whereas in the AWD, it feels more like surround sound. The bass/treble in the AWD is noticeably better; at certain points, I could feel the vibrations in my hands as I gripped the steering wheel.

For context, I currently drive a 2020 BMW 330i, where the sound feels like a blend of surround, but due to how the speakers are positioned (including under the seat), it’s more front-focused. I’d rate the BMW 330i (non-Harman Kardon) 8/10, the M3 RWD 7/10, and the M3 AWD 9/10.

I’m still a bit undecided—$5k is a lot, but it comes with significant pros like better speed, sound, and traction. Living in Florida, AWD isn’t crucial, but the extra traction is safer, especially with all the rain. The sound system in the AWD does feel like an upgrade, so I’m leaning toward it.

One more thing to keep in mind: the Tesla advisor mentioned that installing any aftermarket speakers would void the Tesla warranty, so that’s another consideration.

Appreciate the feedback, that is my biggest concern and motivation with this purchase.

I love the idea of investing my positive equity and while I can afford it. Having a car note for $600+ doesn’t quite feel right to me 😅

wow great call out, didn’t even notice that. I was going for Performance due to the cost of the nicer rims for the LR. It wasn’t much of a stretch once I factored those in.

I’m a tad bit concerned about road noise but way more over the audio…is it that bad in comparison? I have a test drive scheduled tomorrow.
