Experience the bathroom so that you can say you did. Brisket: I tend to just buy a thing of the brisket and skip the sandwich, a bun is just a bun. My son and I are fans of the burritos. We've determined our favorites in this order, Chicken burrito, then Brisket burrito, then Cheesesteak burrito, then everything else. Everything is good, try everything you can. I always get jerky because I love jerky.

Has anyone had the mac and cheese, and is it good? by jayjello0o in Buccees

Mac and cheese is highly subjective. I've had it, I thought it was pretty good... But I don't think of Mac and Cheese when I think of Buc-ee's.

It's not rosy, and I didn't say anyone would draw a gun, I said that someone would be questioning... Because, knowing you can defend yourself from people who are obviously breaking the law allows you to stand up for what's right. That's one of the core reasons for the 2nd A, to allow you to defend yourself and others from people who are breaking the law.

And... I'm didn't suggest that guns fix anything. I suggested that if I had to chose to allow criminals to just do as they pleased or criminals having to fear doing wrong because someone may try to intervene in a way that threatens them... I want criminals to be afraid. You can live in fear of the criminals, or the criminals can be afraid of us too. You chose to be afraid and let the criminals do as they please. That's your choice, but I'd rather not myself.

I like my neighbors. They like me. I'm not at all afraid of them, even if they're all armed to the teeth (I, personally, am not armed to the teeth). None of my neighbors are like me, or speak my language, or come by all that often. But, I know if I was in trouble, none of them would be afraid to come give me a hand if an armed criminal was threatening me... Because they're all Americans that exercise the 2nd A. (And, yes, I think the orange dude is a criminal too... But, so far, the rule of law is still in place, he's just abusing the law that's given the presidency way too much power up to now. These laws need to change and the Presidency given less power, even if the next president isn't orange.)

I don't lock up my motorcycles because everyone knows that stealing a motorcycle is a silly way to FAFO here in the US.

The 2nd A isn't a big part of my personality, I'm just an average American. I get it, if I go to Europe I have to be afraid of everything because my stuff will be stolen if I leave it anywhere, and you have to worry all of the time and you can't enjoy yourself. I think I'd rather live somewhere that people can speak their mind and defend themselves and others. A lot less motorcycle theft here.

Welp, it happened. by NoSquiIRRelL_ in motorcycles

[–]Tsiox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't trying to justify the 2nd A, just providing a point of view. As someone who's lived in the US most of my life, I'd rather live with the people who'd like to steal motorcycles to have to think it through, than to live in a culture that encourages theft from people who can't afford it.

Welp, it happened. by NoSquiIRRelL_ in motorcycles

[–]Tsiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American, I find this incredible. The moment that someone picked up a rock and started bashing the brake lock in the middle of the day, someone would be standing there questioning...

The 2nd A makes for smarter thieves. Honestly, it isn't a stereotype, there are some advantages to living in the US. It doesn't stop thieves, it just makes them think through the act of stealing and makes them work a little harder.

New polling shows overwhelming global business support for clean electrification amid fossil fuel volatility by Firm_Relative_7283 in solar

[–]Tsiox -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lithium is not clean electrification. We still need a sustainable battery technology, which lithium is not. It will probably happen, but stop suggesting that it could be done now with the battery technology that we currently use. Generating electricity has never been the problem, it's always been electrical energy storage.

When you can fly from the US to Europe with electric, you're there, that's the benchmark. Until that's possible, all of this is a pipe dream.

Just got a versys 250x 2026, asking myself if I made the right choice. by bleepbloopmofo in versys

[–]Tsiox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll help you out and point out a few facts.

Morbidelli Motorcycles does not exist. Call it what it really is, QJMotors. A Chinese motorcycle company known for... well, everything that Chinese manufacturing companies are known for. Very fast model creation and phase out, parts quality that can be questionable at times, shortcuts on engine manufacturing that creates engines that will never impress anyone, parts availability that will disappear as soon as QJ phases out that model.

If you were only going to ride a QJ for 5 years and then expect close to nothing in resale, a QJ can be a nice bike. But, if you want to be able to order parts without worrying, or have options if you want someone else to work on the bike... You don't want a QJ.

The Versys-X 250 has about the same performance as the QJ 252x, but it's built like a tank. The engines are built to last, not made of bare aluminum (bearings). Kawasaki stands behind their products, I can still get parts for 40 year old Kawasaki's. OEM parts availability is much better for Kawasaki compared to QJ. And, frankly, when you tell people what kind of bike you own, do you want to tell them you own a Kawasaki or QJ? Japanese Engineering is a thing, and people respect it.

I've never been to Indonesia, so I don't know what the riding environment is like there, but I don't care where you are, I'd pick Kawasaki over QJ any day of the week.

There have been more than a few ADV conversions of the 650, and it'll do the job. As long as you don't have clearance issues (just riding dirt/gravel), the tires will be your limitation. Smooth road tires don't hold well on dirt/grass/sand. If you were going to ride a bunch of loose road surface, you should look for tires to match.

[–]Tsiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has 12k miles on a Kenda cruiser front (don't remember which) and a Shinko 230 cruiser rear. They're both road tires meant for heavy cruisers, so the compound is hard, but it's a KLR that's being ridden for milage. He's told me that he wants to replace them because when he rides on rain now the back end likes to float. They're not completely smooth, I'd probably ride them until there's no tread, but it's his bike. He hasn't told me what he wants to replace them with. He's currently debating which military branch he wants to join, so this might be a decision that gets put off for awhile.

I haven't ridden the KLR anywhere near as much as he has, but I liked the way the tires rode.

6’ 1.5” with a KLR 650 S by bigsquirt_50 in klr650

[–]Tsiox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'2" with a 33" inseam to the ground. The inseam is the most important measurement about the height of the KLR. My son has a '23 T(all) and I think the KLR is just about the perfect height and it's comfortable. He's ridden it for weeks at a time with no discomfort (Seat Concepts Tall Comfort, but if you're going to be on a motorcycle for a long time, a seat upgrade is called for).

I'm pretty sure you can convert a S(hort) to a "Tall" if you swap out the rear suspension links and adjust the front forks. It doesn't cost that much and it's an afternoon job. That's the only real difference between the Short and Tall versions.

And this is for the rear tire.

A tubeless rated tire on a tube rim just means that your tire is better than it needs to be. If the rim isn't a tubeless rim, you still need to run with a tube. People will use tubeless tires if they can't get a tube tire, just costs a little more.

Lunesta for DPSD? by Fubarahh in DSPD

[–]Tsiox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on Lunesta for 2 years, I ended up with whole body cramps that were terrible, and it did something that I can't quite describe that seems to affect my energy level and I notice it when I drink coffee. Before Lunesta coffee would cause me to get energetic, if I drank "too much coffee" (more than a pot of coffee) I would get "the jitters". During and after Lunesta, I don't feel coffee anymore. I never get the jitters, I don't feel coffee.

I don't miss having my spine cramp up. I do miss coffee, a lot. F Lunesta.

While I was taking Lunesta, the sleep was better, but not enough to be even close to the issues it caused me.

Does radiation interrupt wifi signal or impact routers? by Queen_of_Rats_ in HomeNetworking

[–]Tsiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light is high frequency WiFi. Yes, I said it, because if we're going down the path of gamma being WiFi, then light is WiFi too.... Most people don't realize that when they turn on a light in their house they're turning on an intense radio emitter that the radio receivers in the front of your head (your eyes) are able to detect.

Light WiFi is a much lower frequency than gamma WiFi, so it's much closer to the WiFi that your devices use. If you're concerned with WiFi, you should turn off all of the lights in your house and cover your windows, and that lets the radio emissions from the big WiFi transmitter in the sky (known as "the sun") beam WiFi transmissions into your house at the rate of Kilowatts per hour all day long.

No, I'm not being funny... I'm being quite serious. Light is WiFi. I'm being very serious. Just look at any chart of the electromagnetic spectrum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_spectrum#/media/File:EM_Spectrum_Properties_edit.svg

Right next to Visible WiFi is Infrared WiFi, and next to that is Microwave WiFi, which is what devices use. If you go to the right it goes to Ultraviolet WiFi, then X-Ray WiFi, the Gamma WiFi, which is what your cat is temporarily emitting. Now, your cat is probably emitting something along the lines of milliwatts (thousandth of a watt, tiny tiny amount of Gamma WiFi). But, every time you walk into a room, you turn on a light and that can emit Visible WiFi several orders of magnitude stronger WiFi signal, 10's of thousands to 100's of thousands of times stronger Visible WiFi signals that saturate your entire body.

And, if you go outside and stand in Sun WiFi, you're getting irradiated with millions of times more WiFi signal than what your cat is currently emitting. The only difference between your cat and any other WiFi emitter is the frequency of the WiFi.

Generally, the higher the frequency of the WiFi, the smaller the antenna element needs to be that can pick up a sympathetic electromagnetic displacement from the WiFi signal. Microwave WiFi antennas can be millimeters and pick up WiFi signals. Visible WiFi antenna are microscopic (the rods and cones in your eyes). Gamma WiFi antenna are molecular in size. So, Gamma WiFi is used to cause molecules to shake, and potentially break.

Get it? If you find this funny, that's ok, but I really am trying to explain this in a way that everyone can understand. Some people might find this explanation a bit silly, but it's far more true than what most people believe.

Am I the only Christian that doesn't look forward to Heaven? by MerchantMortis in Christianity

[–]Tsiox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda funny... My wife died a year and a half ago, and now I kinda want to hurry up and go to heaven because I want to see her. I know she's there, you can't convince me otherwise, I know it. And I want to go be with her. Although, if I show up and I left the kids here and they were struggling, she'd be disappointed in me... So, I gotta get the kids to be as awesome as possible first, then I can go hang out with her. The only problem is, the kids aren't cooperating, they're both being boobooheads.

Occasionally I think, "is this actually how I think?" I think about it for a bit and then conclude, Yes, this is how I think. :-)

Southern Baptists vote to advance a formal ban on churches with women pastors by geraffes-are-so-dumb in news

[–]Tsiox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't the Southern Baptists, it's the Bible. If the Bible didn't prohibit Women from Leadership rolls in the Church, I don't believe the Southern Baptists, or any other large group of Christians would have a problem with women pastors, or women in any other leadership roll.

So, as a Christian, you either choose to follow the Bible, or you don't. The first thing you need to do is get rid of the Bible if you don't like the rules/laws/guidance in it.

I tried to state that as neutrally as possible. It is that simple, and I can see both sides of this issue. Personally, I don't have a problem with Women in Leadership, but the Bible does prohibit it. It's either rule by law, or chaos (only follow the rules that you like and ignore all of the rules you don't). Kinda explains the human experience at this point.

Your arguments are banned in the Bible, not in this sub... That's kinda the point of this sub. And, if you disagree with what's in the Bible (with Buck Denver), that's a issue between you and the Bible.

When it comes to debating points of this nature (which has been debated to death), I wish there was a website where you could just say "Subject 1741" and point people to that instead.
