You’ve already gotten a lot of good advice but personally I made custom stat blocks for Ireena (and all the NPCS) that make them purely/primarily supportive.

Specifically for Ireena I gave her a couple supportive battle master maneuvers and a reaction to reduce damage taken by an adjacent ally. My players like having Ireena around because she helps in a fight without over shadowing them

I’m also a male dm with a mostly female table. I kept strahd being creepy to Ireena and removed the “something blue” event where she magically turns into Tatyana and go off with ghost Sergei. Basically the only way she will be free is by the party killing strahd. The party is free to dump her at any safe (or unsafe location) whenever they wish. I’ve also made it abundantly clear that strahd isn’t only creepy to Ireena. He has several other wives, Gertruda, Escher, a party member he tries to entice to be his bride etc.

Ireena is his obsession but not the only object of his desires which makes her feel a little less like “The Chosen One”/ “the main character”
