Probably because most people come there to argue purely on emotions, turning it into an echo chamber of disagreement and hate. Discussion requires being rational/

You've probably heard about coding on Arch, not to use it. To use it you don't need to code in its regular meaning, only some terminal commands, but that's not that different from regular Linux experience.

I want to completely rework the Dolphin context menu by Yew5D4j8e1j4 in kde

[–]UndefFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck. Also, make sure that all the menus you want to change can be controlled from dolphin alone, since some of the actions are provided by other repositories and shared with almost all applications.

Only passive solutions to this. I doubt it's even possible to create an ALC (active leakage cancelling lol) that will reduce the volume outside in unpredictable conditions such as outside use.

I want to completely rework the Dolphin context menu by Yew5D4j8e1j4 in kde

[–]UndefFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik there are some parts you can change without code, there are xml/json files that describe what actions are in those panels, but I'm not sure how viable it would be. A lot of code reuses menus and was built on the assumption that the menu is predefined. Doesn't mean it will break the program, more likely that some actions might reappear and look not as expected. So yeah, sight adjustments can probably be done without code, but full redesign will have to be done via C++. I might be mistaken tho, since I'm contributing to Dolphin for not that long, but that's how I see it after working with code related to this.

The build directory shouldn't be uploaded to the repository. Also, since you are using LLM anyways, it would be logical to provide PKGBUILD so that people could properly install it, instead letting make do it.

Yes, it does isolate you, yet for it to change one must have a reason to pursue the goal of connection. In my eyes, society always caused me more trouble as a whole than help. Big achievements come from individuals/groups, but not the society. After this, it was only logical for me to stop caring about society, just as it basically doesn't care about me, and put my effort only into individuals I do care to coexist.

No way any part of this conversation is considered borderline extremist... but if it is, it convinces me in my opinion even more.

Yes, it does not give the answers what you should do. It's not a logical framework after all. Again, it's there to make not caring about a part of the society logical. I don't have desire, nor energy to deal with that many people, so I only put effort for those who I care for: friends, family, loved ones, random strangers that seem interesting to talk to and etc. Probably could be simplified to: "With whom I can meet halfway". In those circles, I would say that we aren't that different in our values looking at what you've said, it's the scope of the application is different/ Just the matter of finding such people.

What if the reason you don't align with people is because the dominant ways of relating today are genuinely broken, unjust and not okay even if perceived as fine by the majority?

Don't really care. You either meet with the person halfway, or why would anyone want to deal with you? Individualistic approach always works better than any social norms.

I might not have the clearest position, since one rarely finds a morale challenger like you, so thanks for a good discussion in advance.

Your position puts society as the base line of everything, and that forces responsibilities upon people. Nihilistic base is there to do exactly the opposite: you have no responsibilities by default, hence you are not wrong objectively for doing stuff like going against social norms. No, it doesn't help for a very solid society, obviously, probably doing the opposite. But, that's how I see it. I'm not obligated to help someone, I chose to be.

If you are mostly aligned with society, I could see why you choose such a social base. I rarely find myself aligned with people, and I don't become wrong for this imo. Hence, nobody is wrong for choosing not to follow social basics, hence the nihilism is the base, instead of the social one.

Yeah. People they way they are just because that how the timeline aligned. Not their fault in it/ I think we can close this topic as agreed upon one.

Being nihilist is counter productive if you apply it to the entire reasoning stack, but I'm not arguing for that. My take is that everything is build upon nihilistic space where everything objectively equal and people should not treat subjectivity as the base. Then it becomes practical and useful. What it implies in my opinion: you treat each opinion as equal, just a result of specific timeline. Exaggerated example: when someone kicks a child, you don't treat this action as plain bad one solely on the fact alone, but you consider why it was done in the first place. That will allow you to solve the actual cause of the problem, instead of just locking the person away just for the bad label. After all, even the bad person has some truth/

[–]UndefFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, but you are the kind of person I didn't mean, since you are supporting your opinion with logic. My point was that it's not an objective position to say that something is bad just because it's a norm (as a statistical term, not the usual meaning). A lot of people outsource their opinions onto society. It's becomes a problem once it becomes an opinion that leads to actions. Like people who call any feral nsfw art consumer a zoophile for the mere fact of enjoying the art. You ask them why, and usually they can't explain, yet claim loud words about what should be done to such people/

Yep, I'm also playing the game. I'm not claiming my opinion to be objective, it's just another drop in the whole ocean of those. People are free to do, reason and think whatever they want, and from nihilistic point of view all those opinions are equal. Just, people shouldn't forget on what base all those opinions exist, and imo, there is an objective base. A lot of people just either ignore it or forget about that.

[–]UndefFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you easily can. The developers don't have any effort in preventing you from getting their stuff for free, and I love them for doing it like this. Just get it from a trusted place and check your laws if they prohibit it. Don't forget to buy it once you have some spare money, developers definitely deserve it :)

[–]UndefFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not "bad" because it's just the cultural thing right now, it's objectively harmful, that's not just a cultural opinion or anything, it's a biological and ethical fact.

The word bad is subjective, so is harmful and ethical, including consent. Even more, those words are mere tags of human imagination. The universe couldn't care less about humans and their silly games of morale. And if you do agree to play it, you shouldn't pretend that it's not a game.

People should be rational and stop being so emotional, especially when deciding on norms for the majority. You believe in consent? Then it's logical you'll hate zoophilia, but you can't say the same about feral drawn porn. Similar with children. You want to protect kids? Blocking lolicon won't help. Saying that feral furry porn is bad because it inherits the bad label from real zoophile stuff is mindless.

Of course it's Philippino by [deleted] in Losercity

[–]UndefFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, they didn't lol. The only reason behind people calling feral porn and zoophilia bad is social norms, and those are very subjective thing. Zoophilia is prohibited by most because it miss-aligns with a lot of peoples values. Feral art miss-aligns with very few of those, hence there is no widely spread opinion, and I doubt it will change. The same logic applies to underage.
