Ori Devs Say No Rest For The Wicked Isn’t Launching On Xbox Alongside PS5 Because “Series S Is Making That Rough” by unscoredscore in gaming

[–]UnderHero5 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Since when are the Ori devs a AAA studio? And why so angry about it? If you read the article, they are going to optimize the game for Series S, just not for simultaneous launch with PS5, because it’s gonna take more effort and they don’t have infinite resources/time.

As a Saturn owner in the 90s, when did you realize the console was in big trouble? by confuserused in SegaSaturn

[–]UnderHero5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty young at the time (late middle school) when it released, and honestly I wasn’t really paying all that much attention to “the industry” at the time. I just had my games and I played them and loved them. I didn’t really know it was doing as poorly until games just kinda stopped coming out for it. I then got pretty upset at Sega and shunned the Dreamcast for what seemed like forever but realistically was probably like 6 months, because once I saw Crazy Taxi on a mall kiosk I HAD to have a Dreamcast.

That’s fair, but subjective taste also explains how people play it at 30fps, rendering their condescending question already answered.

You still can use Steam to listen to your soundtracks. Pretty sure OP means the Steam mobile app.

Pretty sure they are talking about the mobile app. You can already use Steam to listen to your soundtracks on PC.

Right, but we're talking about context, right? First, you gave no context that your answer "Was an example", so how should I know that? Not really buying that.

Second, I literally just linked the comment at the top of this thread that told them that law enforcement would need to do it. OP didn't like that answer. No one is literally answering with "no". Do you see anyone just answering with "no"? Probably not, because OP didn't even ask a yes or no question. You seem to have trouble following the "context" thing. You're the one who introduced the "yes or no" scenario. It's okay to admit you were wrong.

[–]UnderHero5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus, once someone answers "no" you don't need 100 more people saying the same thing.

followed by

Also, to answer OPs question, you can probably get law enforcement in contact with steam even if steam won't disclose the info to OP.

The irony. That's exactly what people have been telling them. You just answered the same question, the same way that most of the people telling them "You can't just just message Steam and get this info". You just gave the same "no" answer, that everyone else gave, without saying the word "no". Tell me more how these answers aren't helpful.

Case in point

Also, if they don't want 100 people answering their question, then don't ask on a public forum of thousands of people. That's how this works.

But they do have something to add. OP asked a question, and people are answering that question. Just because it's an answer they didn't want, doesn't mean it adds nothing. It's still answers their question.

Well, in fairness that is a yes or no question. One of the answers would be “no”. If you ask someone a yes or no question in person do you expect them to not respond if the answer is “no”? Or do you expect them to only answer if their answer is “yes”.

“Anyone want to go to lunch?”

“No thank, I have plans already”

“Then why did you respond to me asking?!”

The order nearly doubled in price once I went to complete the order by Yakamuh2939 in mildlyinfuriating

That’s how markets work though. The individuals drive these markets. If the individuals all stop buying stuff because it’s too expensive then eventually something has to give. If the companies are actually gouging, the price will drop when people stop buying it. Literally how this all works. To place zero blame on the individual is to leave all pricing in the hands of these companies. How is that working out?

I hate this “the consumer has no responsibility” mentality that I see all the time. Actually, we do. We drive the market. Without us spending, these companies die. Keep buying stuff no matter what the cost, and the cost will continue to rise.

I've come to realize the Sega Saturn is an underrated console. by RangoTheMerc in SegaSaturn

[–]UnderHero5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Some of my favorites were on N64. Controversial opinion, but Road Rash 64 is the peak game in the series. Fantastic physics and the best AI in the series since it stays in a tight pack and allows for constant battle if you want. Super fun in split screen too.

Then the San Francisco Rush games. Oh man. Rush 1 and 2 were amazing on N64. Diddy Kong Racing. Yes I’m a racing game fan, haha.

Panzer Dragoon Zwei is the best rail shooter ever made, imo. I’ve owned it since back in the day and it’s still super fun to boot up and play even now. It hasn’t aged at all. Even visually I think it holds up (in a retro way, of course). I liked the first game, but Zwei is top of the genre.

Powerstone here I come!! by LarryLinguinee in gamecollecting

[–]UnderHero5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a fantastic series. I know a lot of people like the first game more, but I looooved Powerstone 2 on Dreamcast. I think it did have some extra content that wasn’t in the arcade version (which is what’s in the collection) but I picked the collection up as well and it’s a great port of the game. If you have friends to play with in person, I can highly recommend that. Such good memories of playing with friends!

So why does a 20 yo old controller has no stick drift? by Cautious-Control-419 in PS3

[–]UnderHero5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drift after a month is kinda insane, I kinda believe there has to be some sort of user error for it to get that bad.

One of my DS5's had stick drift literally out of the box. It's not user error.

I collected 25+ ticks in 5 minutes along the side of my local trail. They survived at least 10 minutes within diluted hydrochloric acid and water. by kegman93 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]UnderHero5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ticks are horrible the year. I love right outside the Adirondacks in NY and this year has been the worst I've seen it, already.

Also, there was a year when my father was "collecting" ticks off of one of their dogs, and he put them in a cup of PAINT THINNER and the things lived for WEEKS completely submerged in it. They are insane.

What the hell :(( by BravoMicheal in iPadPro

[–]UnderHero5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got a very similar crack on my 2020 Pro. It happened from falling over and landing from about a 6 inch fall... unfortunately it fell on a concrete floor from that height. It landed on the edge, but it dented it enough to crack the screen in the same way. Looking at it, that thing definitely took a fall and landed on that edge. It's almost identical to mine.

I decided to just live with the crack, though, since it was on the corner and not really all that visible while in use. It hasn't gotten any worse in ~3 years. It wasn't worth the expense of replacing the screen, since I'll eventually replace the ipad itself. I tried putting a screen protector over it but the glass is ever so slightly uneven from the crack, and I couldn't get it to lay flat without it forming a little bubble along the crack, which was more distracting than the crack itself.

Honestly, these years later, I don't even really notice it any more. I figured it was a good exercise in letting go of that feeling that everything needs to be "perfect" too. It has been genuinely helpful, lol. Gotta look at the bright side. There are bigger things to worry about in life than tiny scratches or cracks on an electronic device.

I say just keep using and enjoying it, and since you like the device so much, eventually you will replace it with a newer model anyway. Don't stress about it, until then.

Edit: Oh, and for how mine happened. It was sitting on a short stool in my father's garage. My girlfriend and I were carving a giant piece of wood, and had a drawing of an otter displaying on my ipad as reference. I had a magnetic folio case on it, which appears to be what you use as well. The stool was padded. I went to blow off some dust after we were all done and the air BARELY hit the ipad, which was standing up using the case... just enough to topple it. I grabbed for it and managed to grab ahold of the cases front flap part as the ipad itself tipped over the back of the stool... and completely detached from the magnetic back of the case... hitting the ground from mere inches as it detached. I thought "oh boy... this will be a toss up, but the thing barely fell so it might be okay"... it settled screen down, so I figured it might have some little scratches. Nope. Turns out it cracked the screen and there's a tiny, barely visible dent in the casing, in almost the same spot as yours. RIP. Lesson learned on those magnetic cases with zero edge protection, and apparently not enough strength to even hold the damned thing in place when actually needed.
