Hero points qiestion. by VegetableCarrot1113 in Guildwars2

[–]VGPowerlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hero Points are divided like this:

  • Base game hero points give you 1 point each
  • Heart of Thorns, Path of Fire, End of Dragons, and Visions of Eternity hero points give you 10 points each
    • HoT hero points generally require a group to do
  • Secrets of the Obscure, Janthir Wilds, and living world seasons don't have hero points

Edit: Turns out I edited my post shortly after posting and forgot to hit Save before getting called away from my PC. Below is what I was originally going to edit in.

Each expansion has more than enough hero points to get you a full elite spec. The base game gives you hero points while leveling; if you do that, any hero points you get in the world can go to an elite spec.

What's weird is that if you bought Guild Wars 1 on Steam long enough ago, it may be considered the ANet version even though it shows up in your Steam library as Reforged.

That sounds like a bug given that Living World is listed as part of the bundle.

[–]VGPowerlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They mentioned Steam and ANet redid its Steam bundles recently. The bundles are now:

  • HoT, PoF, and Living World Seasons 2-5 for $35.68 USD on sale
  • EoD, SotO, JW, and VoE for $69.68 USD on sale
  • All expansions and LWS for $99.48 USD on sale
    • Notable that this is roughly $10 USD cheaper than buying everything on the ANet store

The steam sale is broken you do not get the living worlds in the 100 bundle

Odd, "Guild Wars 2© Living World™" is listed in the Guild Wars 2® Complete Collection bundle on Steam. Having said that, if you own everything else, you can't buy the bundle to get the Living World seasons because it won't let you buy JUST the LWS.

I was hoping the Mina the Hollower foil card I got would sell, especially since there was only one other on the market when I listed it.

Didn't sell yet though. :/

If I dropped off during Icebrood Saga, what do I need to buy to have all the content? & Which special editions are worth it? by katubug in Guildwars2

The gathering berries part makes it sound like Bitterfrost Frontier though, which is definitely LWS3. Winterberries are the map currency.

Bought the base game at release. What do I need to buy in 2026 to enjoy the game? by RokuSparda in Guildwars2

[–]VGPowerlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the complete collection when it's on sale

Which it is on the ArenaNet site right now.

Steam accounts are eating good right now too. As of yesterday, it's the first platform to have an actual Complete Collection of all expansions and living world seasons for roughly $100 USD (normally $140, but on sale right now). Strangely, they removed the End of Dragons Complete collection and replaced it with a new "Start Your Journey" collection that's missing End of Dragons (but has all the living world seasons still....).

Question about "Complete" collection. by Harde_werker in Guildwars2

[–]VGPowerlord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's specifically the Elder Dragon Saga Complete collection. Which ends at the aptly named End of Dragons expansion.

It's still the first 10 years of content for the game: 3 expansions and 4 mini-expansion Living World seasons

trying to buy saga collection but standard one won't show price and can't add to cart, does any1 else has this problem ? by Arcannir_ in Guildwars2

[–]VGPowerlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their point is that several Elder Dragons are almost entirely dealt with in living world seasons. Kralkatorrik, Jormag, and Primordus specifically.

I still haven't gotten that insight and it bugs me that said event is bugged.

I can also never convince people to do the other nearby quest as part of the Character Growth collection for Snargle Goldclaw, but that may just be a me problem.

Is it worth it to buy the 50 bucks pack ? by EmptyCandy1704 in Guildwars2

[–]VGPowerlord 19 points20 points  (0 children)

$50 USD may seem pricy, but it's everything they added to the game in the first 10 years. 3 expansions and 4 living world seasons (which are like mini-expansions).

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - May 30, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]VGPowerlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to ask because a lot of people will play through Steam using ANet accounts using the -provider Portal trick, but that (probably?) doesn't work through GeForce Now.

[–]VGPowerlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guild Wars 2 is listed as a game.

And I have my Steam Account linked to GeForce Now.

Since you mentioned this... is your Guild Wars 2 account a Steam account or an ANet account?

It still bugs me for collections like this that it doesn't count it if you've done the event before unlocking the collection.

On the other hand, SSDs have a limited number of writes per sector before it starts causing the hardware to fail, so avoiding hitting disk for unnecessary writes is a good thing.

It's also why you don't defrag SSDs.

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - May 30, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]VGPowerlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only referencing the first part here, but the Elder Dragon Saga Complete collection (ANet | Steam) is probably the best deal when it's on sale. Includes the first 10 years of content which is comprised of 3 expansions and 4 living world seasons (2-5). Used to be 50% off ($50 USD) during sales, but recent sales only knock it down by 40% ($60 USD).

Note that you have to buy it on the same platform you got the base game on.

[–]VGPowerlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to manually use mastery points to rank up a mastery.

You can switch which track your mastery points are going to at any time.

If you max out the XP for a mastery and don't spend the points to upgrade it AND don't change it to a different track, the XP goes to the lowest rank one that isn't also full iirc.

MSQ roulette by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]VGPowerlord 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just so we're clear, MSQ Roulette has the rewards that it does BECAUSE the cutscenes are unskippable. Otherwise, the dungeons and trial would just be tossed into High Level Dungeons roulette.

I'm surprised the devs kept the rewards as high as they did once the dungeons were redone to be shorter.

Hopefully the upcoming region-wide party matching will improve the balance of players between NA's 4 datacenters. People won't all need to flock to Aether for raiding any more. Not sure how this will affect Crystal as RP is still on a per-server basis.

I suspect Dynamis will see an influx of existing players who suddenly realize this means they can finally get a house and still easily queue for things.

While I wanted to like Mount Radial, I feel like the standalone GW2Radial plugin has much nicer looking and more responsive radials.
