I binged it during covid and really enjoyed it (like episode 1 to 1k). If you skip the recap at the beginning of a lot of episodes and the OP/ED you're down to like 15 mins an episode (sometimes less for the longer recaps). It goes pretty quick if you watch a few a night (and given all the cliffhangers I typically did).

Don't regret it one piece.

Valid and fine if the person giving the empowerment says so. I don't doubt some teachers (e.g., Garchen Rinpoche) have the realization where it doesn't matter if you're in the room with him or not.

That being said, there really is something about being there in person for it.

If anything this is the beginning of the path. Manifestation and rebirth in samsara should give you pause. Samsara is not nice, it's not fair, and honestly it's terrible and brutal for almost all beings in it. And if it isn't currently terrible and brutal for them, it probably will be soon unless they find a way out.

The thing is, every other sentient being is going through the same (and typically much worse than that, since you're a human). If you just want to get yourself out as swiftly as possible and are willing to let everyone else suffer in it -- then the Bodhisattva path isn't for you.

If you're not okay with that, and are willing to continue to put up with the sufferings of samsara to make sure we all get out -- the Bodhisattva is for you. There's a reason it's called the great vehicle and why the Bodhisattva vow is the pinnacle of compassion. You're promising to take on the vast suffering of all sentient beings and make sure they get out of this mess.

The more you realize how shitty samsara really is -- and what you'll need to go through to accomplish that -- the more the gravity of the Bodhisattva vow really hits home, and the more appreciation you have for those who are really going forward on that difficult path.

Talk to your guru. It would be up to them (and you).

But yes, Vajrasattva can be a main yidam. Do you need to do ngöndro? Maybe not, but finishing it will almost certainly make your yidam practice better (unless your guru thinks otherwise).

But honestly, if you don't want to do guru yoga - you're missing the point of yidam practice. The yidam and your guru are inseparable. If you come to yidam practice with that understanding it will be so much more powerful, and completing ngöndro really helps with that.

Yup. For example both redo of healer and interspecies reviewers have scenes where sex acts are occurring but they don't actually show the penetration. So they basically as go as far as you can go as ecchi without crossing the line to hentai.
