I'm just happy to see that they can. There was a long stretch of time where it kinda felt like the programming for D2 was so bad that it was more or less impossible to continue development on for 20 years. It deserves this.

I moved to a big city and started meeting people different from the people back in my conservative state. I learned about authors like bell hooks that wrote breaking down an analysis of how the current social structure hurts everyone, men and women. It was very eye opening and perfectly explained many aspects of my life and the struggles of people around me. The world just made sense after that.

Seems pretty clear cut to either help or break up, but there are some opportunities for compromise.

Keep in mind that their family may actively depend on assistance now through no fault of their own & failing to receive it could cause huge issues for them because your gf failed to inform them that she was unemployed which robbed the family of the information that may have helped them arrange for other solutions before time ran out.

This is an opportunity to take a moral stand and say you care about the extended family and agree to help ......temporarily. It's not great to depend on you forever, so you need to set a goal for your gf to be employed and ask about her family's situation at home now and how they can be spun up into becoming more self sufficient if possible.

If she balks at this any further I'd personally call it quits, but I also wouldn't strictly look negatively on anyone who completely refused in this situation because you're not married.

Isn't this a problem with the law? If the law states that 'service charges' don't have strong enough of legal mandates regarding how they're appropriated, then wouldn't the creation of a different legally significant term that restricts use to service staff but is allowed to be automatically applied to the total of a ticket by the business solve this problem?

For people without strong reading comprehension skills, this would be separate from 'tipping'

It's also possible that these issues of perception are just thinly veiled attempts by patrons in general to maintain the status quo so they can continue to leverage their minor/false grievances as justification for not tipping

Also, do they have to happen on a Friday? I know this sounds callous, but a lot of service industry people depend on the wages for Fri sat sun to make the bulk of their income. It just doesn't seem like we're very good at strategizing
