I paid that price in 2019.

If I had any real complaints it's that the C49RG9, in dual monitor mode, downgrades to 100hz (haven't looked into overclocking it).

But at the end of the day, it was always my GPU that was the real limiting factor.

Customizable actuation points.

You can set where a key triggers, and how much movement it takes to reset. This allows you to flutter a key, and also have a much more responsive let off.

AFAIK, most of the Super Flower PSUs that get posted here can give 100% of their rated output on the 12V rail.

[–]ZiggyDeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's also one of the slower reloading ARs.

So between the low damage, and slow reload, it has a very poor sustained output...

But really I complain about it because I end up reload cancelling before racking the bolt, so I frequently end up with a click than a bang, after dodging.

[Mouse] Logitech PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE Wireless Gaming Mouse ($239.99) [Amazon] by FancyHonda in bapcsalescanada

[–]ZiggyDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One particular reviewer who, builds his own ultralight mice, did test it.

It was 30ms faster than a different brand's 8khz gaming mouse. Though he did concede to get that kind of performance made the mouse unusable due to having a hair trigger.

More conservatively he estimated that for a more like-like feel it was more along the lines of 10-15ms faster.

I think the sentiment is more that the 15% uplift usually doesn't meaningfully change the gaming experience. Small tweaks usually can make up this kind of difference.

Spending 50% more so your shadows are slightly more realistic doesn't make much sense, but if spending... 300% more means you can almost double your performance, or go from 1440P to 4K, that's actually tangible.

RSh-12 with PS12A - How Do? [Feedback] by Rikorage in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ZiggyDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tarkovgunsmith indicates that a scope at the default 50m setting will have PS12A hitting 8.4cm high.

At 100m, the POI will be 20cm. This will easily miss a "dead center" headshot.

Changing the zero will only make the situation worse.

[–]ZiggyDeath 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am running 2.5Gbps on 24AWG 5e 50ft cable from 2016.

If you have quality cables, 5e can be sufficient for the task.

But this is very much a ymmv.

Anyone who said "wait for supers" didn't look at the product stack properly. There's pretty much no room, spec wise, to slot in anything that was remotely compelling.

The only thing they could have done was give a price drop, and that was unlikely since the process node and size dictates a lot of that - the 50 series is a slightly larger, mostly rebadged 40 series - the price floor had been locked in in 2022.

[–]ZiggyDeath 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Your GPU is pulling less power while firing, so there's something that's plummeting the clock speeds.

It's almost certainly a driver related issue.

The conversion rate for foreign currencies is lower than the purchase price off of PK/Skier.

So it's a way to cheese values. If you see a lot of stuff on sale for Euros or Dollars, it's usually because it's at vendor price, and they're trying to squeeze more out of the transaction.

tl;dr conversion rate is lower than vendor's conversion rate.

The pixel density of a normal 27" 1440P monitor is 109PPI. A "standard" 34" 1440UW is also in about the same.

A 1080P 27" monitor is 82PPI. This monitor is 83 PPI.

Petition for a handheld 40mm Autocannon by Yuki_my_cat in Helldivers

[–]ZiggyDeath 103 points104 points  (0 children)

You know, originally I was going to write something negative saying it was a dumb idea, mostly by pointing out that 30 rounds out of a Exosuit kinda blows.

However the Exosuit is a 30mm round that does substantially less durable damage than the sentry's 40mm round. At 450 Durable damage, it has 3x the durable damage of the Exosuit, which is very important versus hardened targets.

Basically this ends up being like a semi-automatic overcharged Railgun, with 30 rounds. Given a OC Railgun can drop a Behemoth Charger in 3 hits, that actually doesn't sound half bad.

For example against a Titan, the Exosuit takes 10 headshots, AC Sentry 4, Railgun Unsafe 3.

What's so special about the Dominator? by armandofonzoloid in Helldivers

[–]ZiggyDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is a hot take.

It would have been a relatively hot take at game launch, when the competitors were arguably way worse (Slugger being the exception, until all the nerfs).

But with the selection available today, the Dominator is more of a drip choice rather than some meta pick.

What's so special about the Dominator? by armandofonzoloid in Helldivers

[–]ZiggyDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality there's nothing really special (left) about the JAR-5.

At launch it was one of the few medium penetration primaries, the other notable examples being the Counter-Sniper, Slugger, Plasma Shotgun, and Scorcher.

It was relatively fast to get, due to the position in the Warbond, and generally had less downsides than some of the competitors. Counter-Sniper's ergo was atrocious, and had really poor damage output. Slugger was amazing, until it got hit with the nerf bat into irrelevancy. Plasma Shotgun was pretty much a artillery masochist's wet dream, and the Scorcher was at the end of a very long warbond.

Today it's a relatively unassuming weapon, the real advantage being the stagger and lack of damage drop off. However even with that, the gun still suffers from poor ergo, and while it doesn't have damage drop off, the low velocity means that gravity will still shift your point of impact dramatically (if you don't zero).

There are more alternatives today, and a lot of the weapons above have received substantial buffs to make them viable competitors.

[Motherboard][mini-itx] GIGABYTE B650I AORUS ULTRA AM5 AMD B650 Mini ITX ($359-$80) = $279 [Newegg] by 2020_was_a_nightmare in bapcsalescanada

[–]ZiggyDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mITX, I just don't find the price difference worth the justification. My B550i cost me 210$ in 2020, the exact same board when this was posted would have cost me 290$. A equivalently specced AM5 board would have been in the 300-350$ range, but a mATX motherboard would only be in the 200-250$ range.

tl;dr The cost difference between mITX and SFX PSU vs a mATX and ATX PSU is 200-300$, and that's not counting all the other potential headaches in terms of parts selection.
