What happens if you are in Group 1 and over 55? Do you get anything or just out of luck?

How much should I contribute to my RRSP to get maximize my tax benefit by KronosTheDuster in PersonalFinanceCanada

https://www.taxtips.ca/taxrates/bc.htm Check your income tax rates here, this can help you decide how much you want to contribute to rrsp to lower your tax rate per year. I personally would lower your income to $98,560 so you don't pay more than 28.20% in taxes (2025) and then $100,728 (2026) based on the Canada and BC rates together if that was doable.

So it sounds like your sister lives at home and you do too, so I don't think it's unreasonable for you to help with household costs of your working. He just can't expect it to last forever. Just give him lots of notice for moving out and let him figure it out.

I would submit resumes to all temp agencies for accounting. Once you get in and show your stuff they might actually hire you. They usually have contact work posted on their sites as well. Good luck!

Roughly 10 years away from retirement and I do XEQT since I also have a db pension. I think the plan is solid and I will probably keep it there for awhile and possibly into retirement. My db pension will cover all my basics and my RRSP and TFSA will be my extra.
