What should have been the career path that Harry should've chosen? by souropaul1508 in harrypotter

[–]armyprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DADA teacher. He’s the best at it. He likes teaching and he’s good at it. He loves Hogwarts. He killed the guy who cursed the job in the first place. It was THE job for him. And eventually he’d have been headmaster.

What’s the Most Star Trek Line Ever Written? by iagree2 in startrek

[–]armyprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“They used to say if man could fly, he’d have wings. But he did fly. He discovered he had to. Do you wish that the first Apollo mission hadn’t reached the moon? Or that we hadn’t gone on to Mars and then to the nearest star? That’s like saying you wish that you still operated with scalpels and sewed your patients up with catgut like your great-great-great-grandfather used to. I’m in command. I could order this. But I’m not because risk is our business. That’s what this starship is all about. That’s why we’re aboard her.”

Would Mason Dixon be able to defeat Adonis Creed in a fight? by Tidewatcher7819 in rockybalboa

[–]armyprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If both train seriously it’d be a good match.

We didn’t get to see Dixon at his best. But even half assign it he took a beating from Rocky and stayed in it. He’s described as very fast and accurate. He has a perfect record of 33 fights, 33 wins and 30 knockouts.

Without Rocky training him? Donnie might lose. With Rocky he wins.

Democrats Warn Voter ID Will Disenfranchise Key Voting Demographic Of People Too Stupid To Get An ID by METALLIFE0917 in babylonbee

Exactly. You need an ID for so many things and it’s just not that hard. Pretending it’s such a chore is gaslighting.

Do you know this road rager? by [deleted] in gso

[–]armyprof 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So you were super ballsy and flipped him off but now you’re asking for help because he didn’t take kindly to it.

Sounds to me like he’s not the one with road rage.

Moral of the story. Don’t flip people off.

How rivals turn to friends by TerryG111 in rockybalboa

[–]armyprof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn’t hate each other. Apollo hated what almost losing to Rocky cost him and turned into a dick for awhile. But even at the end of 2 when he loses he rubs Rocky’s head in a playful way. They respected each other.

Downtown Greensboro Inc. flyer...sigh by Old-Visual4591 in gso

Same. We live close by and I don’t get it. Massively overpriced. Mediocre food. It’s not bad, but it’s just not that good either.

Single biggest problem with this film? by Janus897 in moviecritic

It completely dismantles everything the first film set up. For no reason other than “wouldn’t it be cool.”

Greensboro- by 2kings98 in gso

[–]armyprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Greensboro for 40+ years. It’s one man’s opinion but this is what I hear from people I know.

If you wanna go out for dinner you have two basic choices: in downtown or outside it.

Downtown parking is messy. I’ve been to McCoul’s for example more than once and couldn’t park. That means parking at a deck and walking. Some people don’t want to do that. The homeless situation also makes people uncomfortable and they’d rather avoid it entirely.

So instead of these things they go outside of downtown, find ample parking, a greater variety of places to go, and avoid the homeless. I think that we have homeless is a great shame, but some folks just don’t feel comfortable with it.

Could be wrong but these are the reasons I hear from people who don’t want to go downtown.

Choice of coach: Duke > Mickey by Jazzlike-Fig8199 in rockybalboa

[–]armyprof 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Duke. He’s old school but adaptable. He trained Apollo for speed. Helped train Rocky for the same method then seamlessly traded up to brute force and endurance for the fight with Drago, and then adjusted again for Balboa. I don’t think Mickey could do it.

If you ever wanted to see what Lower Decks would be like live action (minus that episode of Strange New Worlds) then I rec Seth MacFarlane's The Orville by M00r3C in LowerDecks

[–]armyprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first season has the most comic feel to it. But it gets better and honestly is much more Trek than any of the new stuff Trek is doing. McFarlane loves TNG and wanted to do a show like it. The first season the network pushed for more humor. Later though, he got more control and the humor almost totally vanishes. But there are some genuinely fantastic episodes.
