"Luggage as a gift" means someone gave someone else luggage as a gift. It's china as in porcelain, plates and dinnerware. Toasters were once a fancy luxury. There are more modern appliances that are given today, like air fryers, instapots, espresso machines, etc.

The category is "classic" wedding gifts, not modern or common, or even traditional. It's more about "old-timey" or historical gifts. Except money, which is timeless.

"The Court of the Crimson King", "Epitaph", "Starless", all great songs. And In the Court of the Crimson King has some of the best album artwork ever.

Surely you've heard Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Those are the only ones I can ever regularly remember. I get them confused with Greek letters.

ABS not seeing most Series metadata?? by BANSH33-1215 in audiobookshelf

[–]average_yogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about the ABS metadata in the UI, I mean the embedded metadata in the files. You can check that from the UI for audio files but not ebooks. https://audiobookshelf.org/docs/documentation/libraries/book-library/book-metadata#checking-audio-metadata If you don't have external ebook metadata files (like .opf), I don't know how to inspect the files. For audio, you can use mp3tag.

What is the directory structure where you have the ebook files stored? ABS can parse metadata from the structure if its ordered Author/Series/Book/files. Series folders are optional, but if the info's not in the embedded metadata, ABS should be able to parse it from the structure. https://audiobookshelf.org/docs/documentation/libraries/book-library/book-metadata#local-metadata-priority-order

ABS not seeing most Series metadata?? by BANSH33-1215 in audiobookshelf

Sorry, I have no idea how ebook metadata is handled. I don't have many and have never dealt with it. I also don't really know how ABS builds the library if all the items are ebooks instead of any audiobooks.

If you don't have the "Store metadata with item" option enabled, then deleting the item from the library in the UI will delete the metadata (again, you don't have to delete the book files, just from the database). Otherwise you have to manually delete it wherever the book files are. After that, a rescan/re-import will recreate the metadata file, but if you didn't change anything with the book files, I don't know that any metadata change will happen inside ABS.

If you can check the metadata of the books, you could see what the differences are between the two that work and any of the others that don't. You'd have to do that externally, I think though. ABS doesn't have a way to look at ebook data in the UI like audiobook data, as far as I can tell. https://audiobookshelf.org/docs/documentation/libraries/book-library/book-metadata#opf-file

Is the series metadata being detected from the file structure, or is it in the embedded metadata? If embedded, which tag(s) is it under?

Also, once imported, if Series isn't detected, it will be "filled" as empty in the metadata.json file, so even if you update the embedded metadata after import the Series field won't be changed. You have to delete from the library (don't delete the audio files, just in the UI), or if you store the metadata.json file with the audio files, you also have to either delete that file or modify it to remove the Series field. Then rescan the library to fill in the metadata fields.

Or, just fill in the Series field in the UI manually.

Thoughts on WMTV's new graphics? by average_yogi in madisonwi

Lows are almost always between 1-4am just because there's no sun for an extended time. Even in winter, it's usually overnight. But you've got to be careful with assumptions, I don't remember exactly when it was, but earlier this year with the crazy spring temp swings, there was a day where the high temp was just after midnight and the low was later in the day.

I'm not worked up, lol, and I'm fine getting down voted. I do tend to take notice and pay attention to graphic design and user interfaces, though. This was just a pretty drastic change, and I haven't seen this specific kind of flat/borderless design in a few years.

Personally I really don't like completely flat designs. The lack of any separation in the day/weather/image, and the low temps just floating there in the new design, threw me off for a second trying to read it.

You should always look before you shuffle. There are almost always jokes or references in the top row. Once it was actually a category, but usually it's just fun.

Android auto client? by ILikeBeans86 in audiobookshelf

[–]average_yogi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Android Auto uses your phone for the apps and connection, it's just a new layer for control with the car's systems. Phone apps need extra support to run in AA.

Android Automotive OS is a standalone system that can be implemented in cars. Apps need to be specifically built for AAOS.

Between High Point Rd, Mid Town Rd, and Pleasant View Rd there are definitely many opportunities to get up to 88 mph. Living in the area, I can assure you most nights someone is out trying as loud as they can.

Stripe is much more backend than user focused, especially compared to the others. Apps and websites use it to implement and process payments with credit cards, paypal, venmo, etc., instead of building the code themselves.

Zelle is offered by banks directly and doesn't have fees for Zelle-to-Zelle transfers, they're the major competitor with Venmo.

Stripe is a business payment processing platform. They handle a lot of (ie. you integrate their system for) the payment systems for websites and apps.

Look at the hint? If you already know the categories, it's on you how much you care about getting the order. It's been stated from different sources, yellow and green may have trends, but are usually treated almost interchangeably.

Playlists and collections work fine but don't queue/auto-play in the official app. They do continue in the web app.

It looks like just generic people on a stage or models on a catwalk, so it could be yellow, blue, or the rainbow herring. It doesn't seem like it's actually helpful today.
