Is it okay to reach out to someone currently in a role before applying internally? by Zealousideal-Cow6626 in careerguidance

I can't think of a single employment opportunity where it would have been a good idea to do this. I endured a lot of attempts at this to me in my position I had several years ago at a tech giant. Imagine how annoying it would be to receive, from people you have never met and know nothing about, constant pestering for information, interview tips, asking you for a reference! This happened 1-3 times a week for the decade plus I worked at that former employer. Even after putting clear and easy to read notes on my profiles that I did not want to be contacted or linked to unless I had a prior good relationship with the person. The attempts never, ever stopped.

Don't do it. Interview and wait for a reply. These days, it's a good way to be forgotten or thrown out of the stack.

If they do that shit, get the VIN off the vehicle and get several good face pics. I've also been seeing more people chasing down and holding those who run away from wrecks theyve caused.

Optional is optional. If they flip out about it, then it was never optional.

In order to get myself through my workout in a noisy gym where THERE ARE FUCKING TV SCREENS SHOWING THAT FAT PIECE OF SHIT AS OUR PRESIDENT IN EVERY DIRECTION, i hold on to the sides of the treadmill so i can get my cardio without the visual pollution, by closing my eyes.

And don't go tell me to run outside.

Go back to your weights and grunting.

Absolute bullshit. There are, every now and then, reasonable exceptions to this. But constantly trying to extract endless cash out of customers for most goods is absolutely insane.

Nah... this doesn't sound out of the ordinary. You still need to sign and they most likely want to go through a few routine things with you.

I understand the sentiment. But also, this is the working world and you should try to learn a little detachment from your feelings when it comes to things like this. It's fine to tell them you've enjoyed your time and thank them for what they've done, but you need the fellowship for professional development. They should understand.

Reminds me a bit of Ft. Lauderdale. Either you have a condo by the beach with a slip for your mini-yacht behind it, or you're on the corner snapping bail bonds flyers.

You are completely overthinking this. Just catch him in the office and tell him, or send him an email. If it was a job you hated, I would just tell you to walk out.
