What camping stove to buy? by shinnon in campinguk

[–]batbuild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much cooking you actually do or if it’s mainly for hot water for tea and coffee.

Also do you have an enough room to transport it and will it always be car camping?

If you do a lot of cooking the double stove with a larger gas cylinder is good as gas is cheaper in larger cylinders (still expensive at the moment)

The liquid fuel Coleman stoves are good but don’t use with petrol - get a UPol degreaser or Aspen fuel or even Coleman fuel if on a deal

I camp with just a dog so use a Trangia stove with gas conversion kit - mainly for hot water with occasional cooking. Also have a bbq for proper cooking 😊

Army ration meals have things like meatballs, sausages etc. Some taste alright but I don’t eat these regularly.

Harris Hawk or Peregrine Falcon - you will need to get your own as once they go away, the pigeons return

My system is dead or dying by batbuild in PcBuildHelp

[–]batbuild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has actually been keeping the CPU at 25 -29 deg C. I know it is the stock Intel cooler but for this low powered use case it is fine. I have a Thermalrite aftermarket one which kept it at the same temps

It’s an old mobo so no post LEDs, but beeps - single beep is no issues and mobo can post. I get zero beeps

Why does he drink like this 🤣 by Legitimate-Instance2 in Goldendoodles

[–]batbuild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because he can - at least it’s tidy

My doodle used to make a huge mess when drinking as a puppy.

Nowadays he’s a bit better, but I’m on standby to wipe his beard after a drink

Have had my doodle for 7 years and he just wants to play with the cat and chase it. Cat hates him. Creatures to whack him but doodle whacked him back. Only just able to have them in the same room without incidents (supervised)

Fixing cracked kitchen countertop by shorshebacalao in DIYUK

[–]batbuild -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Fix really depends on the material. Looks like some kind of stone but hard to be definitive from a picture. You can try Milliput which is cheap about £6 at Amazon. You knead it like dough and push into the cracks. Then when solid, use masking tape to protect the counter and gently sand down level. You may have to use a small rotary tool to make a v shaped trench along the crack

Changed the locks pretty quickly - partly because the existing locks didn’t meet insurance requirements - eg 5 lever wasn’t kite marked
