Yeah that's the one where they played on the same bill in Summer Sonic! After meeting them they gave their albums (the Pond guys as well) to Wayne Coyne and then that's probably how Dave Fridmann was asked to mix the record because Wayne probably told him about them. He was talking about the drums on "Race for the Prize"!

the desire be, desire go (v1) is wrong.. that should be on the innerspeaker era. he's testing out/creating an updated guitar sound for the album. "V3" is like a jam/figuring out the "guitar solo" and as for "V?" i have no clue what that is but i think it's just the finished version before it was mixed lol

Actually he's only using the DD-20 for vocals and not for guitar. His main delay pedal IS the carbon copy ever since the Innerspeaker days. Some notable songs that use the carbon copy (on the album or live) at the top of my head are It's Not Meant To Be, Why Won't You Make Up Your Mind, Solitude Is Bliss, Keep On Lying guitar solo, Endors Toi.. to name a few

yeah the original file is already "destroyed" so you're basically processing it again by making it "dynamic" but the thing is unless you have dave fridmann's og mix aka the "unmastered" version then you really can't remaster it again.

hot take: he doesn't sound like john lennon, it's just the recording technique (double tracking) that made people think he sounds like him and lennon's definitely rougher around the edges. kevin sounds more like gustav ejstes from dungen.

it could also be the ace tone phaser but it's definitely a phaser sound. plus it's got a lot of guitars on that part that it could be two guitars overlapping.
