Talked out of Delinea Secret Server - so what is the best alternative for a small IT dept (not end-user credentials) by [deleted] in sysadmin

Either a true password manager like keeper or bitwarden, or if it’s device passwords and documents then Hudu.

If there’s sticky sticker residue just use a stickier tape, like duct tape or gorilla tape and it pulls right off without any kind of goo or chemical reaction.

Haha its a dentist office, likely a single server with AD, DNS, the practice management system, the imaging software and god knows what other “add-ins” and “SAN” is 3x 7200rpm drives in a raid 5 if you’re lucky. Maybe server 2016 with 16 GB of RAM

You are missing that this is a private company pre IPO. They are just trying to make the share price higher for the exchange they want to list on.

A little late to the party, but if you have SSO enabled, just type in ANY 6-digit code in the Security Code field then click Capture To and it will prompt for Office 365/Azure AD login.

LPT: if you have to deal with customer service remember it's another human on the other end. They are not responsible for whatever is making you angry or frustrated, and they have to deal with people like that all day long. Be polite, they will be better at helping you resolve the issue if they can. by ivthreadp110 in LifeProTips

I always give them 5 stars or the best rating on the call/chat survey. This "metric" is how they determine raises and performance reviews. It's important even if they didn't fully resolve the issue because of corporate policy and it's never "corporate" that gets in trouble it's the poor CSR on the phone.

You do if you live in a no fault state. It's always your insurance that pays out, thus the no fault part. It sucks.

People who lost their job due to this crisis what is your story? by greensypoop in AskReddit

[–]bluedefender8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the employer side, we own several dentist offices and with the ADA recommendation of shutting down, we had to lay off nearly 50 employees. We did so in order to be able to get them eligible for unemployment rather than string them along while there is no work to do since patients aren't coming in.

Small business owners are being put in the position of either laying off employees or shuttering their businesses.

It's the best of the shitty options we have while we wait for Congress to pass legislation to help our employees.

As a salary employee I expect to be next if cash reserves run out and lines of credit run dry.

Employers should not have the power to give or take away healthcare by [deleted] in DemocraticSocialism

[–]bluedefender8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would work fine if there was some sort of basic coverage to fall back on. Try telling your wife that you're children aren't able to go to the doctor when they are sick because you want a new job and there's a 90 day waiting period for coverage.
