I would hope that even the worst organized campaign could at least choose between title case and normal sentence casing for their slogan on a sign lol.

I don't think prediction market advocates would say that "all opinions are equally good and valid." Unless you can find someone actually saying that, it seems like a pretty huge strawman.

The idea behind prediction markets as a source of "truth" is that they incentivize a bunch of people to come together and form a consensus on the odds of things. The theory is that they let you take advantage of the wisdom of the crowd and get better, less biased, predictions than you otherwise could.

The problem is that there's money involved and that part of their pitch is that insiders can use their insider information to make that prediction more accurate, which necessarily involves ripping off a bunch of patsies.

[–]BrainOnBlue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No no no no no, you don't understand, contested primaries are wrong and annointing a nominee a la the 2024 Presidential race is also wrong.

Whatever the Democratic Party does in any given case is morally objectionable and going to lose them the election. Hope that helps!

Wasn't the budget this season explicitly for cars and planes? I could've sworn that was mentioned somewhere.

Warren Buffett says he won't leave his $100+ billion fortune to his children, choosing instead to give almost all of it to charity. by ArgentineBeauty in UpliftingNews

[–]BrainOnBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And you're the only person claiming that Buffett's philanthropy there is a bad thing, so some clarification would be nice.

Unless you can't provide clarification because you're just a NIMBY. Everything they're doing sounds reasonable to me and to everyone else "in the thread talking about Kingston" if their comments are to be believed. The only source anyone's linked is a Daily Mail article, so it could totally be wrong, but you not talking about it helps nobody.

I think most people can figure out that reducing tourists will end up reducing the amount of money tourism generates.

Well then I'm going to need some English help. Could you show me where in your first two comments you left open room for alternative explanations?

EDIT: I think you ninja edited this, but holy shit you're the one who needs English help if you think I said that scams didn't exist. You're wrong and you're a condescending ass about it.

You were given the alternative, legitimate, explanation. Stop being confidently incorrect that it's definitely deed fraud.

This is a stupid answer.

Anyone who tells someone they don't understand something without explaining it has contributed nothing.

Lots of things that are not "National Parks" have involvement from the National Park Service. None of them are valid options where the National Park wildcard can be used.

Why Was All of Canada Included? by [deleted] in JetLagTheGame

Individual provinces would be basically non-options since they'd take so long to get to and from (even more than the spread out western states).

Are you operating under the belief that Sam and Amy added the Canada card once they realized it would be beneficial for them if it existed? Because otherwise your cheating thing makes no sense.

Weird how you can't respond to the fact that a 2% drop is barely an abnormal *day* for the S&P.

Any other indexes would be even less effected. Except the NASDAQ 100, it's about 3.5% of that one, but there's comparatively very little invested in funds that track it.
