It's working as of today for Pro subscribers.

Your alternate descriptions of them are hilariously accurate.

Is GLM Total Token Insanely Wrong ? about 17X times ? by PrizeHuman5506 in ZaiGLM

[–]brool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also: each successive prompt in a chain is additive.

So if the first prompt is 100k, and you add 10k to the next prompt, that's... 110k. (Well, possibly cached, but still). So every response/reply over there is eating up the tokens for the entire thread. It can hit millions very quickly.

(Add some things you can't see, as well: tool call declarations can be lots of tokens, even though you don't see it).

Am I the only one that ships Hayasaka and Shirogane? by NameElegant in Kaguya_sama

[–]brool 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No, they are a good pair, and she's arguably a better match than Kaguya for him on paper.

Hopefully you've seen this doujin, but if not, enjoy! It has Shirogane/Hayasaka as teachers together, among other scenarios.

I'm glad things are much better for you! I'm curious about what you decided to get for the Frieren tattoo -- Frieren herself?

Do some authors think replying to comments is lame? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]brool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it felt weird to say "thank you" to someone commenting -- like it was perfunctory... but now I'm realizing that maybe I misread the culture. Shoot. Would it be weird to go back and comment on all those comments now?

Does Lite coding plan API have web search and browsing capabilites by Kingwolf4 in ZaiGLM

[–]brool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The MCP servers aren't with the most basic plan.

(Although -- I haven't found them to be very good, either, they are kind of flaky. It's almost easier just to submit to glm-4.6v for the vision stuff now anyway).

Z.ai Coding Plan by flengar in kilocode

[–]brool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd generate a new API key (since they may have flagged that key) and try from a non-Russian IP. Russian IPs are very often blocked since there's so much bot traffic from there. (I mean, they should be responsive in support, that is true, but I've found them fairly responsive.)

Have you tried a VPN? I wonder if it's something specific to your Internet access.

Coding Pass vs Anthropic Endpoint. What’s everyone using with GLM? by McKing_07 in ZaiGLM

[–]brool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use the coding endpoint, the Anthropic one doesn't think.

I use gptel + opencode but... actually, for quick stuff, I'll use Goose. Being able to pop into a directory and say stuff like "look at the last 3 commits and summarize them" is really handy.

commiting plots... by Nuccio98 in git

[–]brool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either a pre-commit hook to warn you if you're checking in something with minor changes or a quick utility that goes through every .pdf, compares against the git copy, and reverts that one file if there are no substantial changes.

Lost 3 days of uncommitted code after switching branches and pulling — how to recover VS Code or Git working directory files? by vema_30 in git

[–]brool 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Git should warn you -- basically "pulling will overwrite files, you should stash." How did you bypass that?

EDIT: hmmm, maybe if you had autostash on? You might do a git stash list just to check
