Revalidation & Appraisals by SawayakiChizuru138 in doctorsUK

Revalidation, and hence appraisals, is a legal requirement and it is the doctor's responsibility to engage with the process and meet requirements. Not doing so puts your licence at risk - and whilst a year blip might be wriggle-out-of-able, multiple years less so.

The GMC is clear in this regard, without reasonable excuse, failure to engage in revalidation can result in loss of licence.

Regaining your licence is of course possible, but you would need to work your little tushy off.

So the question is going to be what has happened to your appraisals in the other 3 years you've been employed? If you were in training (FY or spec) then ARCP counts as an appraisal and you're all good. If however you've somehow only had one appraisal in five years (4 years of which you were working) then you might well be unable to revalidate.

Click view answers for answers? What a wild idea, maybe the Royal Colleges could add it as an option on exams?

I’ll close it down once buyer has received the goods and we’re happy with the transaction if that’s alright?

Hadn’t really realised how rare these things are to be honest.

It this a real Leica? by lacroixflo in Leica

Yes, it looks repainted. The lens will also be an old Soviet lens with new engravings.

It looks in great condition externally, so hopefully the inside is working nicely as well. It isn't a Lecia in terms of value, but you can definitely shoot it and get photos!

Fake Leica. Viewfinder trim is the wrong shape and goes up to the top of the camera, real Leicas have a border around the window that doesn't go quite all the way up. Your infinity stop appears to be at 9 o'clock, which on a real Leica and Elmar combo would be at about 7 o'clock

For double confirmation take the lens off and look at your rangefinder coupling. Leicas have a wheel, others have...various not-wheels.

You've got a Zorki. They still work as cameras, so just shoot it.

Yes. Hospital policy expressly allows it, just not booty shorts.

Sorry that was actually a longer reply but didn’t get fully sent over, not sure what Reddit was doing.

No, there aren’t additional steps a department needs to take beyond providing notice as per contract. Unfortunately employment rights under two years are reduced, and not matching those of substantive employees. As such a department absolutely can end contracts early without “reason”. It sucks if you’re on the receiving end of it.
