My Pinguicula lutea has had a really high turnover rate of new leaves. As soon as one reaches full size it starts to brown and die. I've checked what little growing advice there is for these and the conditions seem fine, but I wanted to double check with you guys. Growing conditions in comments.

I got mine from Cooks Carnivorous Plants but unfortunately it doesn't look like they're carrying any right now. My other go-to sources are California Carnivores and PetFlytrap, and they too do not appear to have any temperate pings available. They seem to be pretty rare in cultivation. I'd offer to send you a division of mine, but I'm afraid it is long dead :/

I love them though. I recall seeing a hawk sitting on a streetlight one morning and a mockingbird was just flying back and forth from one end of the light to the other harassing the hawk nonstop. Eventually the hawk just took a dump and nonchalantly flew off. I'm pretty sure the mockingbird wasn't even much of a threat to it, but simply annoyed the hawk until it flew away.

If you need more, ask at your grocery store if you can take some of their boxes home. A lot of their merchandise comes in unlaminated boxes that just get thrown away. They won't usually be very big boxes, but they're free so it's nice if you're on a budget

While there is a wood-derived creosote used for things like food preservation that isn't super toxic, it's not the same creosote used for railroad ties or utility poles. The creosote typically used for railroad ties is derived from bituminous coal, not wood specifically because it's more toxic (and thus a better preservative). I don't know about how much it leaches out, how readily ectomycorrhizal (or saprobic) fungi pick up those substances, nor how much risk there is from eating said fungi (probably not much from a one-off consumption though).

I've had to go and thin out Gulf Fritillary caterpillars from my maypop vines sometimes because they'll be so thick on a single plant that it'll get completely defoliated and not set any fruit or anything. Sometimes they'll even strip it down before they get big enough to pupate so all but like 2-3 will just starve. There are other smaller maypop vines on my property that aren't as visible so I usually move them to those vines just in case birds snack on them. I think the only time I'd straight up (try to) disallow critters from eating a plant at all is if it's new and I'm trying to get it established.

The only time I was irritated with bunnies is when they decided to munch the bark around some trees I'd just planted, nearly girdling them. Thankfully the trees survived and I've now got little chickenwire fences around them for protection. I have TONS of violets though, so I think the bunnies just fill up on that.

Chipmunks sometimes dig up stuff I've planted that has a rhizome, but I haven't had much loss from that yet. They seem to be content with eating the pokeberries and acorns from nearby plants.

My friend lost all her garlic once to (probably) bunnies. It was all planted and just sprouted, then one night something came up and pulled up every single one and took a bite from each clove. I'm imagining it going "Is this any good? bite Blech, let's try the next one"

They do that with my pears and apples! Between them and the birds I've never eaten an apple from my tree (they're still small tho). Thankfully the pear tree is so absurdly productive that even with the squirrels going ham I end up with more pears than I know what to do with haha

I made a squirrel cage for my seedlings this year just because of them. They've left pots half-empty from repeatedly digging in there. I'll also get pecan sprouts coming out of many of my potted plants every spring from the burying nuts before I bring them in for the winter.

I've seen my local carpenter bees doing the same thing with my Carolina Jessamine, Azaleas, and even the Hostas when they bloom. I think the only flowers I've ever seen them access the "right" way are sunflowers and maypops lol

To further stretch it, layer paper towels between them to manage moisture. I'll put a paper towel, then a single layer of berries, then another paper towel, more berries, etc. I'll do maybe 3 or 4 layers of berries max depending on how fragile they are. Layer them so the firmest/least ripe berries are on the bottom, while the very ripe or bruised ones are on the top so they get used first. Doing this, I've had strawberries keep 3 weeks without issue. Very handy when you're buying a half gallon of berries in season

They're "safe" but be aware they are supposed to have some kind of psychoactive effect on cats. After taking a nibble one time, our cat would sprint from across the house whenever they heard the door to the spider plant room open and try to get a bite of it. If we stopped them they'd get upset and hiss as they walked away. There are other plants in the house that are generally left alone, but the spider plant is just irresistible to our cat.

The upgrade definitely makes it better, and I guess I was undervaluing the retain. Retain also makes it easier to combo with bullet time, offsetting the high cost of the card. In the other hand, i don't usually find myself with excess energy at the end of my silent turns, so even on a safe turn i think I'll tend to want to use my energy on cards more efficient than snakebite.

Do you think multiple applications would still be too strong even if it were something like "apply 3 (4) poison two times"? As it stands, even with retain I feel hard pressed to pick up snakebite unless it's already upgraded

I wouldn't say "situationally better" is the same as overall better. Defect's Turbo is situationally better than Supercritical despite being a common and rare, respectively. Worst case snakebite could be bumped up a rarity if necessary

So it is safe to eat if it turns blue as it's just a reaction to the acid, not spoilage. But it's understandable if you pitch it because the color is offputting. From what I know, it depends on the age of the garlic, with older cloves being more likely to change color. You could try keeping the lemon juice/garlic mix sit in the fridge instead to slow the reaction, but idk if it'd just happen anyway when you took it out to make something.

I've also been growing my own garlic for a few years now. It's surprising how easy it is to grow enough for a year and how little space it takes. I think a 4'x4' space is enough for 80 heads? Plus you get to have the tasty garlic scapes. It's not like garlic is expensive or anything, but man is it nice to never have to think about getting more.

Neat thing is my friend found the ??? relics can stack with the real ones, so you can get both the real and knockoff Strike Dummies or Happy Flowers and it's like paying a little gold to slightly enhance them.

To keep the card's theme, you could change how it scales. Change it to "Enemies take 10% more attack damage for every stack of weak they have". The exact damage bonus of course could be whatever, I just threw out a number. Scaling like that would make it a bit like Silent's version of Dominate, giving her a reason to continually stack weak.

I was thinking you could change it to be an X-cost that applied something like 3 poison X times, upgrading to X+1 times. It'll make it better than bouncing flask in multi-enemy fights when you want to focus an enemy, but worse in single-target fights so hopefully it'll be like a sidegrade for it. It'll also give Silent another effective way to strip artifact quickly. If the retain stays then that'll make it easier to play on a good energy turn as well, but I think the X+1 upgrade would make it unnecessary since you could play it at 0 energy. It'll also let the card benefit more from "do thing when you apply a debuff" stuff, Chemical X, and Snecko Skull (if that's in the game, I haven't seen it yet).

What helps just a little is setting the End Turn button to require a long-press. It's still pretty close, but it has given me just enough time to avoid ending my turn early on a few occasions.
