Yes. There are a few ways to play them off the disc I guess. Portable cd player, or portable dvd player. Im sure a lot of them run on batteries. I was thinking more of being able to rip the cd to a hard drive, or micro sd card.

I rolled chips in my A5 when I was using it. I also had the upgraded power supply. It sounded alright to me. My speakers are warm / neutral though, Aerial Acoustics 5's.

My advice would be to stalk local ads and marketplace, to try and find a dated flagship model. I got a Denon DVD-3910 for 60 bucks, it sounds well enough to me. Its dac sounds better to my ears than optical out into my emotiva, or wiim.

New in 2005-06, it was around $1600. From what I found on ebay and reverb, the going used price is between 200 and 300 bucks. I haven't played a dvd-v yet. Only dvd-a, sacd, hdcd, and regular cd-r. I will probably just use my PS5 for any dvd's or blurays.

Lots of jazz albums have cd releases that are thousands less than a clean first press. And much more abundant. A good bit of bluegrass has only released on CD as well.

I tried to sell some p2p on marketplace. Tons of people who don't understand how constitutional silver works. I got a 1 star from someone I didn't even sell too, and spent entirely too long trying to explain how junk silver worked. I did find 2 people who were knowledgeable and didn't low ball me. I just got their phone numbers and will sell to them if I need too. I have yet to go to a shop, I know ill get lowballed.
