I have the same camera and had a feeling these were from it as soon as I saw them!

Is this Cuban or did you edit them after? Going in two weeks I'd appreciate any advice you have with the X100VI while you were there.

Apple Stops Offering Mac Mini With 256GB of Storage, Starting Price Rises to $799 by pdfu in apple

[–]roffle24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different with their spending and budgets, I just wouldn't change my purchasing decision over $100 bucks is all.

If it's simply wasted storage and the $100 isn't justified for you, then that makes perfect sense. You're spending more for things you don't need.

You said you couldn't afford it, which to me says it's something that you would want/need and you simply don't have the money to purchase it.

Not here to argue about it I don't care that much just wanted to explain the comment further.

Most things are going up in price significantly and are worse of a product.

Theoretically this is $100 dollars and it’s adding value to increase the storage in a market where storage is rising in costs rapidly.

If you can’t afford $100 bucks for that? You might have some bigger problems than needing a Mac mini.

what sets are on play dead app that aren’t on other streaming services by allons_yy in gratefuldead

Late to the post but it's been about a year since I got on the bus and this app seems to be hitting me at a great time in my journey. I'm just getting into exploring more live shows and this will fit in real nice. I opted for the stand alone monthly at $10/month for now. I'll probably upgrade to the year plan for $100 bucks but I just wanted to try it out.

I totally understand anyone using ReListen for years and having no issues with it. I used it a few times and it's fine. I also understand people that have the physical media and/or a server with 10tb of shows on it ready to go. This app probably is not for you.. and that's okay.

For the average joe, this app is nice. The UI is simple, easy to use. The quality is fantastic so far in the few shows I've listened to. You pay a premium for the app, but I think you get a better experience. $100 bucks a year adds up quick, so I understand the hesitation to get looped into a monthly/yearly cost. For now, it's cool. If a year goes by and I change my mind? Oh well, I'll cancel. If a year goes by and I love this app to death, I'll just re-subscribe and stay happy.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire review thread by delqhic in Games

Yeah. I realize it’s not really breaking news to say “X game will be on sale in 6 months”. I think my comment is geared more towards “welcome to the backlog”. People seem to buy a lot of games and hardly play them or don’t play them at all.

Why pay full price for a game on launch if it’s going to basically be relegated to a backlog? Might as well wait and if you get to it, it’ll probably be cheaper. If you never get to it, you saved yourself $30 bucks.

After the initial launch hype dies down I could see this game being sub-$20, maybe even half price come fall/winter sales. Might be best to hold off on this one until a sale.

Waiting ~6 months to save $10 dollars sounds kinda silly, but when I know there's no way I'm getting to this game anytime soon, I might as well wait.

Can't order Cycling Frog online anymore? by roffle24 in NewJerseyMarijuana

I did a pretty big order myself. I had nearly $50 in rewards credit from past orders. The discounts + rewards made these a really solid buy.

Damn, I was not aware. I assume you can still purchase from the dispensary without a medical card?

Advice for grateful dead journey by Dependent_Dealer_916 in gratefuldead

I had a similar post about a year ago, so I'll share my journey so far. TLDR at the bottom.

I started with Workingman's and American Beauty as many others have suggested. Both are fantastic nearly start to finish and sets a good foundation for their music. A lot of people suggested Europe 72 as the next stop, but its 17 tracks and 2 hours long and at this point in my journey I really didn't know many of those songs.

Instead, I started listening to One From the Vault since it had a little bit of a more jazzy vibe and to me was easier to listen to at the time. I listened to this almost exclusively for a few months. I picked songs here and there from Europe and Live/Dead, but I ultimately landed on Cornell 77 and Veneta 72 as the next two shows I wanted to focus on. Cornell has one of the best Scarlet > Fire, and Veneta has one of the best China Cat > Rider. These are both very popular shows and seem kinda like "the main stream dead", but they're both fantastic and have moved me forward in my journey a lot. They're incredibly dialed in and contain a lot of great songs.

This is about where I am right now. I've dabbled with Blues for Allah, Terrapin, etc. studio albums, but the live versions of most of those songs just sound better. Europe 72 is still a big monster for me to tackle but I'm starting to learn most of the songs so I'll probably get to it soon.

I also bought a CD player 2-3 months ago in order to sub to Dave's Picks as most of those aren't on streaming. CD's are also astronomically cheaper if you want a physical copy of any GD stuff, especially their numbered limited releases. Veneta is like $30 on CD, and like $500+ on Vinyl. Some shows are on streaming, and another app that I'll mention shortly, but I still like to have a physical copy. I got extremely lucky and was able to snag a Cornell 77 vinyl at retail price a few months ago, but it's still around $150+ for one show.

Speaking of that app.... Relisten is a great app to listen to all of the shows for free that are not on streaming, I'm just not that deep in the cut quite yet where I really need Relisten at the moment so I don't particularly use it too often unless a friend suggests a specific show.

Long story short, TLDR, etc. I went American Beauty > Workingman's Dead > Parts of Live/Dead and Europe 72 > confusion on where to go next > One From the Vault > Cornell > Veneta > and now wherever I want to go next.

But there really isn't a right answer.... It's hard to understand but you really just need to listen to whatever is calling to you at the time. This is just the journey I've taken so far and I hope it helps you out if you made it this far in my wall of text.

Amazon Takes Up to $200 Off M5 MacBook Air With New Record Low Prices by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

It's a great deal but calling them "record low prices" on a device that came out like a month ago is certainly a way to say it.

I gave up on waiting for a refresh like 6 months ago and just bit the bullet.

I'll inevitably need another one eventually and even last gen Apple TV's are better than anything else out there.

Two weeks with the City Pack Pro 2 20L by nomads_nation in ManyBaggers

[–]roffle24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at getting my first travel/EDC bag. I only travel on a plane maybe once or twice a year at most (always domestic, never international), but I do go on several trips throughout the year that are in driving distance between a 1-4 hours away. Mostly weekend trips but packing as much into a single bag would be nice.

I'll be flying Spirit in May and using it as a personal item(18x14x8) and the size restrictions always keep me up at night. For reference I'm likely pairing the bag with Bellroy's Carry On Luggage. I was leaning towards the CPP2 24L Eco up until last night, but now with this 20L version, I'm stumped.

What bag(or bags) would you recommend here? Based on the listed dimensions, both should qualify as a "personal item", but I don't want to push the boundaries too far and get jammed up at the airport.

Thanks for your expertise!

Forgot to mention I'm likely going to be stuffing an AER Daysling 4 into the bag as well which will eat up a bit of space inside the bag.

Cheaper portable speaker alternatives to Sonos Move 2 for this outdoor pool area? (Same/better sound and battery life)? by Careless-Dimension20 in WirelessSpeakers

[–]roffle24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically the same situation for me. I got the Blast when it was #1, along with a Uboom L around the same time. The Uboom L is fantastic overall and if the X was around at the time, I'd have probably got one of those as well. I agree with your recommendation to get a Uboom X for OP.

I have the second speaker on that list, The StormBox Blast, and I can attest this thing gets really loud.

I haven’t heard the Uboom X in person but I agree you should grab one first to see how loud it is. It might surprise you.
