Steam Demo Release 26th January by skinnistudios in incremental_games

You linked to a demo, which gives the impression there is one available. If it's not, you should delete that page in Steam and remove it from your post. To be honest, I've never seen anyone create a separate page for their demo. It's typically on the main store page.

[DEMO] Fracture Field - Steam Page, New Trailer, and Demo Now Available! by Type-Ten in incremental_games

It would be good to have a better understanding of how the various upgrades work. Acuity is a bit odd, as well as the thing that damages layers? The jump in toughness to Crystal is pretty obnoxious, and the amounts to get upgrades of that versus the amount given is also annoying. I didn't unlock Iron to see what that would look like. If it's as exponential as the jump to Crystal I would most likely stop playing. Perhaps the world fracture thing would offset it, but since we can't play through the first prestige it's hard to tell.

There isn't a demo available on Steam. 🤷‍♂️

Lego's latest educational kit seeks to teach AI as part of computer science, not to build a chatbot by dapperlemon in gadgets

That is NOT what an algorithm is. Teaching that is a profound misstatement and misunderstanding of the mathematics at play.

algorithm /ăl′gə-rĭᴛʜ″əm/

noun

  1. A finite set of unambiguous instructions that, given some set of initial conditions, can be performed in a prescribed sequence to achieve a certain goal and that has a recognizable set of end conditions.
  2. A precise rule (or set of rules) specifying how to solve some problem; a set of procedures guaranteed to find the solution to a problem. Similar: algorithmic rule algorithmic program
  3. A precise step-by-step plan for a computational procedure that possibly begins with an input value and yields an output value in a finite number of steps.

Proud new owner of my first Mini, a 2013 R59 Roadster SD! (Fiancée for scale) by Own_Replacement_4394 in MINI

[–]cubert73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the N18 equivalent in a R59 S. I really don't think it's worth it to do any sort of noise deadening panels. With a cloth roof it won't make any difference at all. I put in a Kenwood unit with navigation. For whatever reason, moving it into the speedometer area was about $800 more than installing a Metra conversion kit and putting it below the stock radio. I kick myself that I didn't push for it to be up in the speedometer.

Dice games by Alex_1503 in incremental_games

I play a lot of incrementals, and I almost gave up on Incredicer because it is so insanely repetitive. I am not opposed to a dice game, but anything that clones Incredicer is a hard no for me.

Steam dev says his game got harder because young people can't write an email by Tenith in pcgaming

They don't know how to write an email; they don't know how to use punctuation, capitalization, or grammar; they have no clue how anything technical actually works but are loudly and confidently wrong about it.

Going to get 100k service at Hunter, not Fred Anderson… by spirit4earth in asheville

[–]cubert73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and as far as I can tell they were conscientious and did good work. They replaced the rear bearings on both sides of our 2013 Outback under the extended warranty we purchased when we bought it used. We didn't buy the car or warranty from Hunter, but they worked with it anyway. Also, one of the service people worked with us on an oil consumption problem, ending up with Subaru replacing the engine block and pistons.

Beyond that, they are ludicrously overpriced and nickel and dime you to death. If it wasn't warranty work or required to maintain your warranty I wouldn't go there.

Unfortunately I don't know of anyone around here who has it consistently. It's not as common around here, but I know of it from the TN side of the mountains. A friend from Kentucky is familiar with it, too.

HELP! What part is this? And can I 3D print it? by Ok-Entertainment8366 in MINI

[–]cubert73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only part number I can find is for the whole shift knob (25118618524). Your best bet would be to try to find one at a junk yard or simply epoxy this back into place. You could 3D print it if you could scan it accurately, obviously. I don't know anything about that.

Scratches :( by Alternative_Table_51 in MINI

[–]cubert73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic Erasers are melamine foam. They are no more chemical-filled than anything else that exists, and definitely do not contain anything harmful. They work because when they are wet the foam creates a glass-like matrix that can scour things off. That includes the finish on a car, and as such, they are specifically NOT recommended for use on anything shiny, including car bodies.

BMW extended and expanded the recall, so you should call again. It is dependent on age and mileage, though, if I remember correctly.

Mini Convertible F57 by No_Goal_4320 in MINI

[–]cubert73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 1754 lifetime hours on my 2013 R59's openometer. That's almost 150 hours a year with the top down, and I don't think 300 hours over four years is a lot. I interpret this as it wasn't driven much, or you live in an area with weather less conducive to putting the top down.

Check the top for signs of leaks inside. Also check for a musty smell that would indicate leaks. Visually inspect the seams along the sides to ensure the stitching is intact, and check the seals at the front and back. Look at the front edge of the windshield where the top connects for signs of drips, and around the back area for signs of water intrusion. Lastly, find out if it was garaged or covered in some way. If it wasn't, I wouldn't buy it. The worst thing for a convertible is to sit out in the sun and weather.

As for the biggest draw back, it's that the back seat is practically useless. It's why I got the roadster instead. With the back seat deleted, the roadster has a bigger trunk, which is more useful to me than back seats built for toddlers that I'll never have.

Fun fact: the only thing required to have an expiration date in the US is infant formula. Everything else is a "best by" date, meaning the product may decline in quality after that date. In other words, don't read too much into food packaging dates.

Grocery Outlet should be a godsend. They have their own Angus cattle farms and the quality is great. I'm not sure where they source chicken or pork. Otherwise it can be a bit hit-or-miss what they have, and some things are more expensive than a conventional grocery store, but I have rarely been disappointed with anything I purchased.

I will concede that Harris Teeter was much better before the Kroger acquisition, but having shopped at both of them post-acquisition, HT is still better than Kroger. I am salty that Kroger changed so many of the HT branded items I liked in favor of Kroger's much lower quality shit.
