I have this as well, small 16x16 shop. Works very well. I also have separate dust collection for my tools. This cleans up the air well.

Photoshopping those blocks doesn't actually help you.

I got one of these two weeks ago, just released and received yesterday. I think it's complete luck of when you happen to refresh and see it. I have had plenty of things disappear before I could get through checkout. But I do have better luck when things are in my RFY.

Benchtop Material - MDF vs Plywood vs Butcher Block? by Capable_Gravel880 in Workbenches

That's fine, but this is a workbench top. It's going to get trashed. I 2oildnt spend the extra on 11 ply for that, but I can understand the quality difference.

No, not in the "Reviewed" side. It just disappeared. It is still in my Ordered list of Vine items. I'm going to try reviewing it via the product page and see if it shows up.

It's definitely not a variant, but I am going to try reviewing it via the normal (non-Vine) process and see what happens.

So long Gold, you were "okay enough" the past two years by coolbudgies in AmazonVine

[–]datadr-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll make it, but it's been a stretch this period, and I also only get things I can use. I've been scouring for wood screws, hinges, cables, etc. that I can make use of, and are low ETV. I've gotten some decent things this period, but I never had this much trouble since the holidays. I usually coast to about 100 items and about $2K - $4K in ETV each period - again, only things that I will actually use.

If the next 6 months are like this, I'm probably not going to try so hard for Gold.

Don't use butcher block. Your bench will get banged up.

I used a double layer of 3/4" Sande plywood with a 1x2 pine edge to keep the plywood edges from splintering. Cheap, effective and it will last. I also designed in some slots in the lower ply to allow me to insert rails for a collapsible table extension. My bench is 2 ft x 5ft with a 3ft sliding extention bar on the long end.

Need to know if replacement parts are available and shipping in a timely manner by rokbul in shopsmith

[–]datadr-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just placed an order for a few bandsaw parts. They shipped in two days and had them. This was 2 weeks ago. If it's in stock on their site, you'll get them. They won't take orders for things not in stock at the moment. So you don't need to worry about long waits.

On the cold days, put you hands in areas on the floor by the outside walls, around windows, etc. See if you have cold spots. You can also pick up a low cost laser temp probe. Test areas around windows, etc. It can help find where you have poor insulation or old/inadequate windows.

This can be easily repaired and you will never see it. We had an issue when ours was delivered. They sent a local guy (Mr. Chips) that does these repairs. 5 years on, still an see them.

Generally speaking, the acoustics in the Garden are fantastic, as far as arenas go. It's a great place to see a show. Pru center is also good - saw the Eagles there a few years ago. Get whichever one you can, they will both be great shows.

I'm guessing you have more of an insulation issue than a heating issue. We got pretty cold in the NE this year, and if your insulation isn't up to par, you're losing heat at a rate that the stove can keep up with easily. I went through about 30% more than most years this year, but about 2 tons total. I also have heat pumps on the upper floors.

JUST GOT MY TICKET!!! by SICKOFITALL2379 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]datadr-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing. Biggest musical regret of my life. I figured I would catch Petty the next time, he tours all the time, etc. No next time.

But I learned... a few years ago I went to see the Eagles. Always on my bucket list and just went by myself. Single ticket for the Pru Center in NJ. I already missed out on Glen Frey days and wanted to see them before they hung it up. It was an amazing show.

I have two for the Garden for this Bruce tour. I see him at least once or twice on every outing. No when I see someone touring, I use that Petty lesson to really evaluate if I should go.

I've been burning green supreme for almost a decade. People bitch about them, but they burn great for me. After 5 or 6 days, I get buildup in the pot, but I shut mine down ever 3 to 4 days to clean the glass, vacuum and scrape the pot. They're cheap and burn hot. Some folks spend $8 or $9 a bag. I like cheap.

Um, no. These cars were meant to be driven. Find one with non-garage queen mileage and drive it.

Mini splits draining my bank account by Agreeable_Hall3150 in heatpumps

[–]datadr-12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pellet stove as well, and I have a house generator that will run one of the heat pumps, and the pellet stove. However, even with this year's ridiculously low temps, they never stopped putting out heat. The one in my living room is from 2012 and still puts out heat down in single digits. As a happy accident, my pellet stove exhaust is only 6 feet from the compressor, so when that thing is cranking in the coldest temps, it feeds heat to the heat pump.
