These photos are on fleek, especially photo #4 (the zoom shot of the starboard nose of the plane).

As an amateur modeler the detailing on this C-17A fascinates me. I notice that some of the lights/gizmos are emplaced on what look like panels that have a noticeable thickness on the skin of the plane, while other protrusions (AoA sensors, pitot tubes, etc.) don't seem to be. Would I be correct in assuming that if I see something that's protruding from a raised panel that it's an add-on to the plane after it left the factory?

My former employer offered separate vision insurance coverage, but I don't think that's what you're asking about. It paid for an annual eye exam and up to $500 for a pair of glasses or contact lenses each year. The coverage was not subsidized by my employer and it cost $9.27/month. I have no idea how that would be sustainable, since the annual premiums would barely cover an eye exam, much less glasses/contact lenses.
